It's arguably the most useless ego lift ever. Very inefficient results for the effort required and how badly it taxes the CNS.
It's worthless as a bodybuilding lift.
There are much better lifts to focus on in terms of gaining strength/power in general outside of deadlifting comps.
So yeah, you're not missing out on much to focus your efforts more on other lifts.

Deadlift my favorite lift but long rest times and if form isn’t 100% sometimes get pain in lower back for little bit. But otherwise compound lifts are important to becoming an overall chad.

Stopped doing them years ago srs
My opinion is that all deadlift roads lead to snap city sooner or later. I have no interest in risking my back health.

I prefer RDLs but I’ve cycled normal deadlifts back in for now. Not going for 1 rep max.

Heavy deads built my back. Nothing will give you a thick dense back than deadlifting or some sort of heavy variation. Lol at people who claim you don't need to deadlift to get big when literally 90%+ of ifbb pro's deadlift. Even Jay Cutler the king of volume did rack pulls.

Deadlifting is really hard on your CNS, you’re right about that.

Deadlift crew checking in. Probably my fav workout
But I don't go too heavy and I don't max out on deadlifts.
