Most brehs I know (even shorter ones) who aren't able to "find partners" are from terribly unhappy childhoods resulting from parents fighting/divorced, so they grow up wildly skeptical that any happy result for them is possible - and they choose outcomes to reinforce that (self-sabotaging).
