Have you ever seen a dead body IRL?

When I was in my 20s, my buddy Greg shot himself in the head.
I found him 5 minutes after he did it. The pool of blood was huge.

Yep, a few. The aftermath of a bad car accident that ejected two people from the car that was hit. 3 passengers, driver lived, two others dead. Another in college, an acquaintance OD'd on a speedball (heroin and pepsi mixed). He was dead for hours before we found him.

Sort of. A guy I knew was dating a lady who took pictures of deceased people for the police. I wasn't wanting to see her pictures, but a number of them were shown to me. Rather disturbing.

Outside of that I've been to a couple funerals.

A few.

Worst was a guy who got trapped under a palletizer. Guy turned the machine off to clear a jam and didnt lockout/tagout, another guy went and turned it back on while he was still inside. Got mushed by 50 tons of pressure with about 8 inches between the concrete and the bottom of the machine.

My grandfather died when I was 3 and my parents took me to the viewing. Creeped me the fuk out.

Several funerals when I was living in Tuvalu. No embalming, no makeup, just a purple dead guy laying in the middle of a room packed with people. During my FIL's funeral, the cotton ball fell out of one of his nostrils and a little trickle of blood started down his face before someone put him back together again.

Indeed. I’ve literally carried dead bodies off the battlefield. I’ve seen body parts separated from the body. I almost died myself. I’m immune to the stuff now though. I’m not squeamish.
