Imagine going to school to become a teacher. Then once you graduate the only job you can find is in the field of zoology.

I've seen a noticeable uptick of Reddit posts that are BS. One was even posted here by Gordon (it was about the guy's friends inviting other girls to an upscale restaurant and he refused to pay the bill). That one was easy to see that it's made up because the user had 2 similar posts that were locked because he didn't reply to questions. And the user's previous posts were about SEO.

These always want to get a reaction from posters and it works. And the OP doesn't answer or only answers a few questions and it is often from a throwaway. It is kind of weird tho because these BS posts used to be called out.

There is a known market for Reddit accounts with high karma and post history, and now with AI it is easy to automate these. Could also be an SEO company messing around to see what works or what ranks on Google. Or Reddit hired a company to do this because of their IPO. Could also be a marketing company that wants to push products down the line. Or a tech company that wants a tool to shape public opinion.

Either way, if it's a throwaway, then ignore. Or check the history if you care if it's BS or not. These work for now, but soon won't either.

I believe that was the case when you went to school, but its gotten a lot worse. The pandering, PC, guilt, liberalism / socialism, etc have made it get to the point that the teacher was talking about. Just look at the abhorrent behavior that is now accepted and lauded in public, its not a surprise that it trickled into the classroom.

Every single facet of it shows that they are the worst performers in school and nothing changes anything. Remember that 100m in funding in NY inner city black schools and their test scores went down? My friends gf is at a low income school for middle school aged kids and ended up getting a position as a behavior specialist. She has 11 year olds smaking their mom's weed vape pens, getting called to a class where a black kid is just on top of his teacher swinging away and they can't do anything about it. Apparently you need an insane amount of certifications or something to even pull a kid off of you or use any physical force to just stop someone. The year prior when she was a teacher she told a kid to do his homework, he told her he doesn't have to do chit, the mom then called and told her that her son doesn't have to do chit and to fukk off, and they CANNOT FAIL THE KID. Teachers cannot fail students anymore unless it's literally them completely doing nothing the entire year.

The entire failure comes from the parents and the school districts. The parents either teach them these behaviors by how they act or what they allow, or don't teach them anything and leave them to fend for themselves which gets the into that street/ghetto culture. Then the school system allows everything. They take away all power from teachers and give it all to the students.

They're literally set up for failure and they are taking it with open arms.

speaking of not being able to fail...i was shocked when i heard schools now bump everyone up to a midterm grade of 50 even if they did nothing. you could literally have a 10 in the class and you get bumped to a 50. a grade of 60 is passing.
