You make this post as if Disney is middle ground or that they are in the right.

Speaking on the middle ground, that does not encompass the majority of the opinions you historically put forth. Then with the Nazis, as if somehow someone opposing Disney equates with that -- bringing up an incident that screams "Agent Provocateur", a known tactic of extremists on the left. Let's talk about that, because what actual proof do we have this protestor is what they suggest? A Nazi and a Desantis supporter? For ****ing real? Okay, explain to me why a legitimate Nazi is going to support someone overwhelmingly pro-Israel such as Desantis? Why?

Firstly, people are tuning out, this is why these movies are flopping

Secondly, its a culture war you low test chitlib. They are intentionally using entertainment as a form of subversion. What they are subverting in many cases are classic stories that people have cultural and nostalgic ties too.

Just because you are a weak chitlib scumphuck who does not care about cultural destruction, does not mean its not happening

They used to be good at makingfamilymovies.

Movies for kids are movies that fairly exclusively target children or younger audiences. Family movies on the surface also do this but they always have a broader appeal and can be enjoyed by adults along for the ride as much as the children.

A family movie can appear like a kid's movie - have animated cartoon characters, anthropomorphic talking animals, fantastic of fantasy settings -- but underneath that they also have a solidly structured plot, a story worth telling that is often deep and nuanced and cleverness about them where they address the older audiences watching in subtle ways.

I have not seen it, but have seen a few reviews: One of the (many) reasons Disney's latest animated movie is failing, the movie "Wish", is that it is not a family movie - it is a kid's movie. The jokes are not clever, the story is not engaging, the characters are not interesting. There is nothing interesting hiding under it's surface. It's just a forgettable movie for young audiences with some wokeness baked into it.

You also have to love their reaction when a movie flops.

With the Marvels, if you didn't see a simple "movie" you were toxic, sexist, homophonic, racist, Islamophobic, right wing, etc........

No one is obligated to see a movie.

I also don’t agree with Disney showing any of their crazy crap like same sex marriages or even changing the colors of their characters or using specific pronouns any near children’s shows. That said all I do is change the channel. It is weird to be soo hyper focused on their stock success and failure as if you all are on the verge of putting them out of business. You will never cancel their company to the point of shutting down. All they have to do is change their strategy and continue profiting.
I bring up Nazis just give a taste of the retarded right’s medicine. If you dare question why so interested in Disney all you get is “ReeeeeeEEEEE U GROOMER!” Well if you’re so obsessed with Disney you must belong with them der pATriOtS with the Nazi flags protesting for your cause. 2 opposite extremes of the spectrum.
As for explaining the retarded rights actions and support for Desantis I cannot explain the absolute stupidity of cult members. All I can do is point and laugh at your like minded members.

You actually think that Disney isn't the slightest bit worried, that none of their movies have turned a profit the past few years? How Marvel is dead, Star Wars is dead, Indiana Jones is dead, Willow is dead, Pixar is dead, their live animated movies are dead, their attendance at their parks are way down, etc.

Disney's business will be fine. Even if you think you are boycotting Disney, you probably aren't. ESPN, Hulu, ABC... they are well diversified.

Bad on you for the last line, no need for that. On those Nazis, again - what proof is there that they are earnest and legitimate? How do we know they are not leftists trying to smear the right or hired by Disney to smear Desantis who they were feuding with? While I am no fan of the GOP, nothing specific about Desantis really should appeal to a Nazi in any way and there would probably be better choices for them to rally behind.

What about Desantis in action has anything to do with Nazi ideology? Or the right in general for that matter?

> I also don’t agree with Disney showing any of their crazy crap like same sex marriages or even changing the colors of their characters or using specific pronouns any near children’s shows

On that, you might want to think about it a little deeper and just for a moment remove yourself from the usual "Us vs Them Left/Right" mindset or ignore that sometimes people here on the right (or just everyone) in these forums defacto attack with insults (whether it's "groomer" or "nazi"). Hopefully you can for a moment and I'll just explain how I feel about it and I suspect removed from any preconceived notions about who I am or how I feel about other issues, I don't think you'd disagree too strongly.

Neither of us are a fan of it. I, personally, dislike it because it is pandering nonsense. Fake virtue signalling, but done by a very influential and powerful entity. Disney, Marvel, Lucasfilms - they shape society in a lot of ways. If they are doing it poorly or in gross ways - Yes, I am going to complain about it. I think it does women, blacks, gays, whoevers - it does none of them any favors to insert them everywhere, to replace them unnecessarily or forcefully and treat these characters as vessels for unwelcome political messaging.

Women are not all flawless perfect capable powerhouses of both mind and body who never make mistakes but constantly at every corner fight nasty misogynistic evil men who all jealously hold them back. I have daughters, fortunately like most pre-teens, they could give no ****s about Disney/Marvel/StarWars, - and I am glad, because I do not want them to see that message and take it to heart. To assume they are perfect without effort by virtue of being a woman, that all men are rotten to the core, that women are masculine and men are feminine and all the messaging Disney has inserted into entertainment.

I want them to live in a world that respects them, who they are and allow them opportunities to work hard for and achieve. I think the Disney messaging misses the mark, overcompensates in a heartless corporate way, much like all of Hollywood post-Weinstein overcompensated for what they all knew was going on, and instead of apologizing or admitting mistake, they just pretended *society* was bad, and they are the arbiters of morality and got to shove a fake feminist agenda on everyone else - as if we were the problem and it wasn't they who got exposed when the truth about him came out.

So I object to Disney on that level, I also object to it because while I nor any other fan any has ownership of these properties - historically, this is stuff I have enjoyed in the past. It's upsetting to see what it's become and having to move on. Disney is free to ruin it, which I feel they are, but I'm going to be remiss about it and grouse about it, too.

Hopefully, explained like that - and I'm not asking you to perfectly see eye-to-eye with me at all. Disagree all you want, you just thought it was weird. I'm just trying to show you what is going on in my mind and probably the minds of a lot of other people.

Leftists don’t like us discussing the evils of left wing extremism. So they disrupt the discussion using abrasive and troll behavior. They tell us our behavior is wrong for discussing evil, even if we were affected by it.

Pretty indicative of their character and values.

Recent Disney sec filing basically admitted it's a problem
We face risks relating to misalignment with public and consumer tastes and preferences for entertainment, travel and consumer products, which impact demand for our entertainment offerings and products and the profitability of any of our businesses.

Our businesses create entertainment, travel and consumer products whose success depends substantially on consumer tastes and preferences that change in often unpredictable ways. The success of our businesses depends on our ability to consistently create compelling content, which may be distributed, among other ways, through broadcast, cable, theaters, internet or mobile technology, and used in theme park attractions, hotels and other resort facilities and travel experiences and consumer products. Such distribution must meet the changing preferences of the broad consumer market and respond to competition from an expanding array of choices facilitated by technological developments in the delivery of content. The success of our theme parks, resorts, cruise ships and experiences, as well as our theatrical releases, depends on demand for public or out-of-home entertainment experiences. Demand for certain out-of-home entertainment experiences, such as theatergoing to watch movies, has not returned to pre-pandemic levels. In addition, many of our businesses increasingly depend on acceptance of our offerings and products by consumers outside the U.S. The success of our businesses therefore depends on our ability to successfully predict and adapt to changing consumer tastes and preferences outside as well as inside the U.S. Moreover, we must often invest substantial amounts in content production and acquisition, acquisition of sports rights, launch of new sports-related studio programming, theme park attractions, cruise ships or hotels and other facilities or customer facing platforms before we know the extent to which these products will earn consumer acceptance, and these products may be introduced into a significantly different market or economic or social climate from the one we anticipated at the time of the investment decisions. Generally, our revenues and profitability are adversely impacted when our entertainment offerings and products, as well as our methods to make our offerings and products available to consumers, do not achieve sufficient consumer acceptance. Further, consumers’ perceptions of our position on matters of public interest, including our efforts to achieve certain of our environmental and social goals, often differ widely and present risks to our reputation and brands. Consumer tastes and preferences impact, among other items, revenue from advertising sales (which are based in part on ratings for the programs in which advertisements air), affiliate fees, subscription fees, theatrical film receipts, the license of rights to other distributors, theme park admissions, hotel room charges and merchandise, food and beverage sales, sales of licensed consumer products or sales of our other consumer products and services.

IMO, Disney's admission of being misaligned with public and consumer tastes and preferences for entertainment, travel and consumer products, is a gloss-over its forced political and ideological messaging to its customer base, which was the real misalignment and failure.

Similarly, BlackRock tried to force its strategic and distribution partners into the ESG/DEI ideology and only after mass disapproval and with funds being removed, did Fink confess his regret.

People are voting with their wallet you phucking idiot. It does not change the fact that CHITLIBS are using another conglomerate to try and subvert the broader culture. You try and sweep this evil away like its nothing. Why are you ok with this?

If someone took a chit right in front of your driveway everyday, would you just go and find yourself another rental? (You sound like a renter).

Disney is attacking the broader culture through entertainment and the media, and is trying to indoctrinate kids with homo propaganda and other insidious programming. You support that though being a chitlib, dont you?

Disney's business model has changed. They used to cater to families with kids.

Now they aim to attract couples that do not have children and are left leaning in their political views. I'm not so sure what they are doing though is all that attractive to couples without kids. Seems like of strange to me what they are up to. I can see why many have turned against Disney.

Disney's market was very broad and huge. People of all ages, ethnicities, religions etc all loved Disney. The new employees have no grasp of markets, business, consumers etc. They really fuarked up. They inherited a Diverse market and tried to "diversify" it by inadvertently making less less diverse.

Things are great.....
Not sure what you mean. They really should be selling some of their TV assets, especially something like ABC. Hulu on the other hand is different, as they know streaming is the future. Besides, I think they got a great deal on the Hulu acquisition. If they were to sell it off the return on investment would be significant. I would probably consider keeping a majority ownership in Hulu and then spinning it off to the public markets when IPO conditions are favorable.

I didn't understand that post or the article linked either, most of "news" from that Disney town hall was reporting a typically ambiguous corporate stance on the sale of those assets. Just like almost everything always in business, things aren't "for sale" but they aren't not for sale either.
