I've been to Europe and you immediately figure out why they are easily prosperous compared to the USA lmao.

Hint: not much crime.

Ahhhhhh good old flats......

2. Europe Has No Word for "Closet"

Europe has no closets. They seriously do not have closets. What do they use to store (ahem, cram) their belongings and clothes in? IKEA is their God. They've invented every kind of wardrobe in the world: one for shoes, one for pants, another for special socks and underwear (not to mention hats, suits, pullovers, etc.). When you buy an apartment in the States, a closet is always part of the deal. Why? Because it makes sense to create a special place for one's clothes.

In Germany, my parents had their clothes hanging on racks (the ones Americans often use for old clothes in their attics or basements). However, my parents had the racks in their bedrooms, practically on top of one another. It looked awful, and think about the amount of dust, lint, and crap floating around in the air landing on your squished clothing.

3. A Bathroom Cabinet is an American Thing

In my experience, having lived in numerous different European countries, there were no cabinets. You know, like the ones you have under your bathroom sink. Everyone's toiletry kit is either on top of the toilet seat, on some random ledge, or stuffed under their right armpit while they attempt to brush their teeth. In America, bathroom cabinets are a given. Why? Because, again, it just makes sense.

There are no clothes dryers in Europe! Have you been to England? Do you know what the weather is like in London, Paris, Milan, Tirane, Prague, and almost every other European capital? Cold, dark, and rainy. Not every day of the year, but generally, the weather is pretty crappy. Still, you won't find a clothes dryer. Now, the Europeans do this for many reasons. One: The cost of the amount of energy used by a dryer. Two: A dryer is not very environmentally friendly. Three: There's no space to put a dryer, anyway.

No carpets in Europe. Yeah, you could special order a company to come in and add some carpet, but generally, no one has it. You buy rugs and live on that smelly, disgusting thing for years. Then, if you're like some Eastern European folk, you beat the hell out of that rug outside on some metal fence next to the bored-looking adolescent kids smoking on the stoop

****inator, listen, I have no dog in this game, because I am of Bulgarian descent so grew up up to the completion of secondary school in the EU and I have lived in the UK for 7 years, with trips to the USA and many USA equivalents to me (White male, mid 20s, professional services career).

I have come to realise that these stats are giga prone to bull****. They do not tell the whole story, whatsoever.

In fact, I am trying giga hard not to fall into a deep conspiracy rabbithole - that one that promotes the idea that most people are unaware of wealth-building games, financial instruments and deep quantitative methods BY DESIGN.

Look at the first one, I like how they have no data for Ireland. The inequality human development index puts them at top 3.

A big portion of that is because their GDP per capita is 100 000 USD. That is almost 50% more than the USA, which stands at 70 000.

However, here is the problem with the GDP, even per capita. That GDP per capita is averaged from all corporate transactions as well, which carries very low tax. So the average Irish citizen does not get any of the benefits.

To me this is just so misleading, it is absolutely disgusting.

Another thing, do you know how many Irish people can't secure a home? Whereas most people with their head screwed on in the USA can at least secure some condo or something?

Listen, I understand empirical evidence versus statistics and whatnot. There are also some qualitative benefits to life. For example, if you are a Seoul born Korean male, the GDP per capita in Germany and UK is higher, but they are marginally better according to stats, which does not take into account for example some VERY serious qualitative benefits:

- If you are in healthcare for example, salaries in the USA mog because it is a privatised system. Korean is socialised, like Germany and UK. But SK has a better managed system, no draining immigrants, and therefore has much better accessibility for patients and salaries for workers.

- You have giga low crime everywhere, do you need a rich person's neighbourhood unless you are part of the social influencer/celebrity/CEO circle of South Korea? Oh, pickpocket is 2% higher in some outskirts in Seoul but it has 97% of the same cleanliness... and is 30% cheaper???

- Distribution of slim females compared to other countries. Whereas with white women you are at a disadvantage from the get-go.

I really hope you read this and did not assume I am a coping Americuck or something. So we can have a conversation over this.

A complete indictment of the suits that appear on TV and try to sell me high-level macroeconomics bull****.

Yeah capitalism has jumped the shark and Americans are funing idiots who routinely vote and adhere to ideology that goes against their own best interests.

The wealth gap is society breaking, but most of these cucks vote like they're billionaires while living paycheck to paycheck.

I was talking to a guy recently that emigrated here from Germany and this mirrors pretty closely what he said. For what he does for a living he can make way more money here and live way more comfortably. He can drive a nicer car, live in a bigger house and all that. More discretionary money, less stress, a better life.

The biggest thing the German middle class has over our middle class, as bad as it's gotten here compared to what it once was, is paid time off. I work with a bunch of Germans now and it seems like they're never at work. I am jealous of that. It hard to get anything done with them as a result of that though.

walk in closets are the greatest thing ever for homes. You can put everything there on shelves/racks whatever and then close the door and keep the rest of the house looking normal. It doesnt have to be picture perfect in the closet you just close the door.

I have noticed this without any immigration to the USA. Very difficult to articulate, very difficult to have a conversation with people IRL and here about topics like this.

People keep ignoring the qualitative a lot.

This time off ****... Here is another perspective - I am working on changing jobs to something I like, not something I am OK with, and actually having less time off in that context is like no biggie? Equally, double-edged sword, stuck in something you do not like with little time off I fully appreciate can be ****-tier.

But even with loads time off you still work majority if your waking time - scratch at least one itch if you are not a heir and cant afford to start failing businesses on your father's dime.

Looks like you are a slave doesn't matter where you are. Might as well make something of it for 70 years, gone in a blink of an eye, and then everyone is heading to destination 2m under the ground.

And when I am met with "But guns!!!" "But healthcare!!!" (NOT [!] from ****inator - just more general reddit-tier people). I have no choice but to give up the conversation.

Here is another thing:

I live in London, UK and if you are in a rich person's neighbour hood, with flats costing north of 5m USD, you can have a council estate (read: poor people) 2-4 blocks away.

There are barely any gated communities. Do I think of myself as better than poorer people? No, **** no. But if you are going to pay so much money, you have to get what you pay for. In the USA, gated communities with access only to people who live there is a nice little self-enforcing community. Where if you work hard and play hard you get a nice area where there are old folk with their puddles and soccer moms jogging down the road. Nice.

Huge qualitative benefit, where is it reflected in those stats?

WHERE?

Its worth it to live in America.

We have things they consider odd like full sized refrigerators, jars of mayo and ice machines. Not to mention free refills.

Also if we want a king sized bed, we dont have to push two mattresses together, we can just buy one big mattress.

Then there is the gravy and french fries on the chinese food. we dont have that for a good reason.

Also most of our houses were built in the past 50 years or so, not like 500 years ago.
"To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda

lol if that helps you cope that American cars are the biggest joke/cope cars in the world then so be it lol.

You see tons of MB, Porsche, BMW overseas, you barely see many American cars. People know they are a joke.

Is this another strawman? Who exactly are you talking to?

I make 3x your pretend salary. My wife makes double. We live in same area and you couldn't afford to drive through my neighborhood. You're just another idiot ideologue who falls for propaganda and identity politics.

Lmao @ pretending to be a cop and also being vehemently against socialism. Can't make this up.
