Anyone else a loner and fine with it?

I guess I have autism or something, prefer to be alone and do things by myself. Feel uncomfortable around others in social settings. Like doing work though

If having a dog still counts as loner, then yes, that's definitely me. I'm too selfish for a relationship.

Not really just keep your self in good shape. Getting a date is not that hard. Finding one where you want a 2nd is the tough part.

That's basically back to square one. Keeping yourself in good shape is fine, but there's not a person on this earth that wants to be lonely. That sh!t is a cope, srs.

It hits at different times for different people, but it hits.

Yeah, I think I likely have "Schizoid" PD...which is where they have pathologized being an aloof loner.

Oh, I agree with you there. Being lonely socks at times but I find it better than being with someone I either 1 don't care about or 2 we have nothing in common and just bicker all the time.

Totally agree about being with someone you're not compatible with, went through that for a couple years and we went our separate ways, best decision either one of us ever made. But the whole loner thing becomes more of a torment as you get older, keep in mind, family members will pass away, friends will pass away, or they move away, or they get married, have kids and they don't have time / concern with what used to be another fun day / night. This can happen even if you're good looking, making a lot of money, great career, great physical condition, etc. The older a person gets, the worse it gets.

At 49 and as someone who's entire family is dead. I unfortunately know all to well th truth you speak. My son is all I have but to be honest he's all I need. He filled up that hole that was left when all the family kicked off..

Only a father would understand but the love you have for your child is stronger and more special tha any other bond you may have with anyone else.. I never thought I'd love anyone more tha. My mother but now I know that pales in comparison.

I did this throughout my 20's, now I just go to work and have a few hobbies. Have a good career. I agree though, bad to be complacent.

I'm not usually a loner, but I've been one by choice for a handful of months now. It's because I'm trying to get in really good shape, and if I have any type of social life it makes things impossible. Trying to get into really good shape by March or April of this year and staying there. Then I'll pick back up on my social life.

i've been lonely before.

its probably one of the hardest thing for people to go through in general. (true loneliness)

but through those lonely times i think you can reach your highest potential if you can somehow stay focused and motivated. (being a strong man)

Yeah I can see that. My parents are divorced, seem to hate each other, and haven't dated in forever (and have no interest in it), yet we're really close and they seem to really enjoy my company.

Seems like most married couples these days only stay together for their kids, then they go their separate ways and that is that. Kids are basic the only thing most people care about when it comes to family and close relationships in the end.

That's why I said my son is all I have and all I need.

But try telling all you just said to his mother.. cause she clearly no longer has his best interest at heart.

I always beat her drum saying how great of a mother she was but with each passing week all she does is prove to me what everyone has told me and keeps telling me is true.

I keep.holding out thinking h
The good person inside of her will come out but I'm slowly realizing that's just not possible.

women don't understand what makes a man. single mothers or just mothers in general often emasculate their sons.

do you best to instill those values into him, thats really all you can do.

how old is your son? create the relationship early in which he seeks you out for advice and wisdom. not all dads do that either.

She is forcing him to think I forgot about him on Christmas. Refusing to call and let me even talk to him to say merry Christmas and I love you and that I have a ton of presents for him when I get my time.

For no other reason but to strike at me not giving two chits how it will affect him

Sickening
