BMW 240i vs Supra 3.0

Help me choose my new car boyos. Looking for a fun, sporty car and having a tough time choosing between these two. Looking for used since I'm just a wagecuck.

2021 Supra, 27k miles, $48,800

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2022 240i xDrive, 5185 miles, $47,991

I'm still looking around but that's where I'm at right now

definitely the supra, have they made a manual version yet?

the bmw looks good except the rear end, the tail lights are too far apart, if you moved them closer to the center the back would look great

between those two, I'd pick the BMW. Then again you're getting a used BMW because you're "a wagecuck" so I dunno you might want to rethink all of this.

The new Supras look like chit, tho.

240i is super fun to drive. I hate most BMW models nowadays, but this one is good.

supras suck for the cost imo

at least the m240i or whatever isn't pretending to be a flagship supercar when its another company's car entirely.

They do, but they're hard to find. Would love a manual though.

Only has 5k miles on it, nothing wrong with it. I'm comfortable around that price range.

maybe if it's CPO so you get the factory warranty, then yeah that's good. Otherwise I'd be heated over potentially having to take it back to the shop every so often.

I have a 24 M240i. I like it.. it rides super well. The 240i has a backseat and a big trunk, so you can use it for groceries and what not. The Supra not so much.

Isn't the new supra made by BMW? It's a BMW Z4, except way overpriced....

They are both fuking beamers no matter what.

New supra? lmfao, not even japanese engine.

Go with the M, if you can spit more money out. Go with the M3 instead or M2.

M2 or M3 will be my future car for sure, just not quite there yet. 4-5 years after this buy + trade in should be good

If you forced me to choose, I'd get the Bimmer. Supra is basically the same thing but less practical, and I think the 2 series is by far the best Bimmer right now. With X drive you can take it anywhere.

I know so little about the new Supra. Are they still RWD?

xDrive might be nice, depending on where you live. Not sure a car like that would be good in the snow, but in rain and cold conditions it will be nice.

Supra is more unique, for sure. Back in the 90s, they were the car to have and mod. Stupid fast.

This Supra is nothing like the old Supras. Those had a bespoke Toyota iron block I6 turbo that could handle massive power with bolt-ons. This new Supra is basically just a BMW Z4 with a fixed hardtop and Toyota styling/badging.

What a shame. All that’s left of the classics are the idea, not the reality. It all started in the early 2000s, and has been downhill for most of the classic car models. There have been a few exceptions, like the Charger and Challenger, but they really went in the wrong direction for a lot of the sports cars, trading hp/tq for fuel economy. It’s like here are your choices; Miata, Miata, or Miata. lol

The Nissan Z is still legit, always has been. It's really just Z and Miata, depending on if you want the heavier and more powerful 6 cylinder Z or the lighter and more basic 4 banger Miata. I love em both to be honest.

Even the Z had the turbo option and was a monster. Now it’s just the NA 6. I don’t doubt they run good, but the tq of a turbo makes a hell of a difference.

You could get a really low mileage 335i coupe for less than half. Lots of other, better options, just first I thought of in that family.

You'll be short some hp, but you can do a heck of a lot with the remaining 25k.
