Dang nice paycheck for a server OP.

NGL though, and not bragging, but that net pay is about the same as my typical 40hrs/wk WFH job. But today I'm getting like $4.5k net due to some overtime...

Where are you at approximately, a low CoL area or high CoL area? Is this pay about typical for you? You working towards another career or nah?

San Jose min wage of 17.55.

Even servers must be paid the base min wage of 17.55 + tips. Cannot have tips "make up" the base wage. Very easy to make a lot of money serving them tables in CA.

i have the same generic responses for any scenario or question, been doing this 10 years. If you ask how something is either i will say all the ingredients compliment each other tons of flavor or i will say i am a huge fan of the sauce and describe the sauce. I have only had one or two dishes at the restaurant i make it all up

what type of restaurant? what would you estimate the average entree cost is?

People sleep on waiting tables.

I waited tables at Olive Garden (lulz) from 2012 to 2014 (age 18 to 20) . back then I'd say the average dinner entre was ~$18 (I bet its way higher now) but it was in a very busy area with a lot of traffic.

I was bringing home ~$750 per week cash at 18 years old working ~25 per week. I lived at home and had no bills. I was balling out of control, wish I would have saved more of that money at that time haha.

I spent on a bunch of stupid/frivolous chit and still stacked up ~17 grand in the first year alone. I had a lot of free time as well. it was sweet

Par for the course around here. I put off doing my AMA thread for quite a while because I wanted to make sure I had the time to answer the questions, although it didn't end up getting as much traffic as I thought. You would think an arranged marriage AMA would attract a little more attention.

It’s higher end. About $55 a person. If you come in as a 2 top and order two drinks each, an appetizer, and two entrees, you’re looking at $200+. Our most popular entrees go for a about $40

unfortunately, this.

IDC how much $$ you make, if you're 30+ waiting tables, you'll likely be instantly labeled a loser by most.

I been taken for years with my 10/10. I could give a fuk what people think. Look at the clown in this thread with his degree or trade I’m making more than him and he’s mad. If my money good I could give a fuk what people think. You can sit there with your degree and $25 a hour and tell people about “engineer or xxx consultant” job. Worrying about what people or girls think of your job is clown world chit make sure your money good

I have had many tables with that demeanor, when they talk down like I flip burgers at McDonald’s, then when the check comes at $300 they want to split it 5 ways. When I’m at a restaurant with buddies I put it all on my card. That’s the difference. Humility makes your flex 1000x harder
