There's no way to know if she heard any warnings from other officers or guards. One thing that is a fact, is that Officer Byrd was not heard by anyone giving her any warning or commands before shooting her dead. There was 3 officers standing in front of the doors before this happened and they just decided to walk away. Their supervisor was interviewed about this and he said "why the fck did they leave their post?"

I guess you're right, there is no way to know what she heard.

But Bryd said he gave warnings, and the Trumper standing right there said he heard warnings that went unheeded.

Some of you are acting like she was simply standing around and was shot in cold blood like that Eddie Adams Vietnam War photo.

During the moment prior to her shooting, chit had gotten out of control. There were people climbing the scaffolding and were breaking through a window and Babbit was trying to climb through it like a Zombie from28 Days later,it was pretty chaotic, so I don't blame the security.

I'm sorry, but you can't behave like that at the State Capitol when there is a meeting in session (verification of a presidential election)

yep, just a peaceful protest.

In hindsight, if you were that security guard, hired to protect the individuals in that building, what would you have done? They weren't just protesting, they weren't just knocking on the door, They were literally breaching the building.

No such thing as a wrongful death for a terrorist that betrayed her country.

The shooter is a national hero.

There were people in there brah. People with a job to do who have armed security who's job is to keep them alive.

Change the location to someone's house and probably zero people would argue it wasn't justified or that any warning was required at all.

Change the location to someone's place of employment during a BLM riot I think the same would hold true.

But at the US Capitol that has its own police force to protect US Congressmen suddenly it's a travesty of justice.

If I was the one with the gun aimed at center mass on someone in that situation I would have given a warning that coming any further and they would be shot. It's my understanding, he did not engage her in any warning or commands...

watch the video in post #33.

The security is pointing a gun at them and one of the protestors trying to break through the glass says;"Hey, he's got a gun! He's got a gun!"

I saw that but that's not a verbal warning from Byrd to Ashley Babbitt.

The outcome of this argument is going to be that Byrd did not say "Ashli! Stop or I will shoot!" and you would be correct from my understanding as well.

Warning was clearly given to the group in the hallway though. Bryd has stated so in interviews and a Trumper who was directly next to Ashli when she was shot gave an interview immediately after the incident confirming unheeded warnings before she started climbing through the breached door.

Would a reasonable person consider the shooting justified? I think so. Warning the group as a whole can reasonably be considered as a warning to the individual as well.

And still, based on police protocol this situation does not justify lethal force.

But hey a trumper was executed, no need to worry about legalities that apply in literally every other situation right?

I actually didn't mean Trumper as an insult like i usually do. I feel bad for her and think she just got caught up in the moment.

But WTF was security supposed to do if that was the last line of defense to where the senators were? Gotta think about it from their perspective too.

Show me the statute defending the use of deadly force in that situation.

C'mon man...called her by name??? Be serious...what does it take to give someone a verbal warning to stop or I'll shoot? What if a cop did that out on the street to someone that had not shown any deadly intent? Thrown in doing to a black man? Fck...you guys would be pulling your hair out over the injustice until the cop was put away for a long time.

Have you been to DC? After 9/11 it became the most heavily guarded area of the country for obvious reasons. TBH I'm surprised more people weren't shot.

Also, Byrd isn't some street cop trying to stop looters at a department store. He is security for elected officials so he has a lot more leeway in the amount of force he can use to "protect his asset." He's basically one step below Secret Service for the President. I doubt they would announce they're going to shoot if they were in a confrontation like that.

I'm exaggerating a bit with calling out her name first. Maybe some recordings will come out during the civil trial that show he didn't do enough, but it does sound like there were verbal warnings to stop and to not enter.

I agree there is an argument to be made that there could have been an attempt at making an arrest. I don't know for sure what the rules of engagement or whatever are for congressional security, I suspect they won't be the same as for a typical encounter with a civilian on the street, which is also fukked up on some level, but again we're talking about protecting senators inside their place of business.

I don't really have a problem with people applying the "play stupid games" philosophy to this situation...IF they are consistent. If you screeched about Floyd, for example, yet applaud this - then that is moronic.

Also, what do we all think the narrative would be if it were lefties storming the Capitol, and it was a white cop shooting a black woman?
