Texas is refusing to comply with a cease-and-desist letter from the Biden administration over actions by the state that have impeded U.S. Border Patrol agents from accessing part of the border with Mexico.

In a letter to the Department of Homeland Security, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton rejected the Biden administration’s request for the state to “cease and desist” its takeover of Shelby Park, an epicenter of southwest border illegal immigration in Eagle Pass.

"Because the facts and law side with Texas, the State will continue utilizing its constitutional authority to defend her territory, and I will continue defending those lawful efforts in court," Paxton wrote.

Being in Texas, most of us are somewhat aware of this, in general more support for Abbott than usual (Texas is red but there are plenty of Democrats, don't think it's all just a bunch of super conservatives cowboys down here) but for the most part we're just living life as usual. I think if this heats up, people will mostly support Abbott. My liberal/left/Democrat buddies simply are not talking about it, normally they get up in arms over political things - by ignoring it, that's almost tacit acceptance of the issue on their part.

What we have here is a Mexican standoff between the federal government and Texas

BREAKING: The war between the state of Texas and the federal gov is escalating.

Last week, Texas seized Shelby Park.

The Biden administration is desperately trying to regain access to the area but is repeatedly getting blocked by the Texas National Guard.

Texas refused to comply with a deadline for handing back the park & is instead moving ahead building razor wires and arresting invaders.
