Obama didn’t really divide the country at nearly the rate miscers claim. I remember most of his speeches early on being about unity. In his 2nd term he did some divisive things like the Trayvon speech, but nothing like Biden has done in the past 3 years. Biden has actually weaponized the justice system and aimed his intelligence agencies at 50% of the population while allowing an invasion at our southern border. Hard to beat that.

in biden's inaugural speech he talked about uniting america just as obama...so he and obama have been in control for what will be 12 of the last 16 years...does america feel united?

When I see all the Blacks for Trump, and they are growing, I think Trump did the most to unite. Blacks of intellect obviously saw through the supremacist "dog whistle" rhetoric being peddled by OCS etc., and thought for themselves.

Biden has about the cruelest plantation owner face I have seen. He looks like he is always thinking about raping the new 12 year old slave girl he just bought.

This thread is a trap...

I don't think Obama intended to divide anyone. Trump would often intentionally stir the pot. Biden... eh who knows.

How people actually reacted is another question, but I think there were more strong reactions for/against Trump, i.e. more total division, than with Obama. I'm sure someone tried to quantify that somewhere.

90% of the trump reaction was media driven...it was like they had their man...rich, white, male, unapologetic, wouldn't grovel to appease marxist rhetoric. everything the PC culture tells us is bad/uncivilized. white men are supposed to be the ultimate cucks to be politicians

“Wokeness” is responsible for why your country is so divided.

Its caused your left to go way too far left and as a reactionary measure your right to go further right.

If you look at what the democrats were proposing during the 90s, it wasnt that far off from what the republicans wanted so there was always some reasonable compromise to be had…

now youre just ****ed. The democrats want open borders and the republicans want to ban abortion. What sort of deals are going to be reached when ideologies are that different? Not many. Mother****ers are about to go to war with texas lmao…

I don't think you're wrong about the reaction to Trump being media driven, he would consistently give them new material to work with though. It was his strategy, and in the end it didn't do much except piss off a bunch of people.

Every time a black kid was shot by a white cop etc., Obama would jump the gun and come out and give a speech about who was in the wrong. He was dividing the country before any facts were even known. Do you not remember this?

Fuk Obama. The first black president who was supposed to put any leftover racial division in the past was instead adding fuel to it and promoted degeneracy, like that Trayvon sack of sh*t thug life and that Muslim clock kid ***g0t. Every month it was something new. Didn't BLM became a thing under his leadership?

I remember the Trayvon Martin thing, people took it how they took it but I didn't see it as Obama being divisive.

Biden's speech at Independence Hall (with the Hitler optics) going off on MAGA Republicans being a danger to the country is an example of what I think of as divisive.

nothing he said was really all that shocking (especially for a non-career politician) without a media narrative to drive it. i remember when he said something in 2016 about the border and how bad people were coming in...for weeks or months it was all about racism and xenophobia. if he said anything about a woman (like rosie odonald) it would be weeks of sexist talk. the same thought process is what has normies sitting through hours and hours of sensitivity training...and by extension causing many to support him more.

I wasn't shocked either, I spent a decade or so working on construction sites that were half white and half Mexican with everyone giving each other endless chit and no one getting offended.

A ton of people are easily offended by bad hombre and Mexico sending rapists etc. You shouldn't say that stuff when leading a country of 350 million people.

and a ton of people were/are fed up with politicians that will say a lot of sensitive/rehearsed words without actually cutting to the chase. he was 100% right (look where we are now with illegals and drugs coming in) and you have to really have the panties in wad to get in your feelings about the word hombres. would've been awesome if both sides would've 100% supported a more secure border in 2016. but noooo we would rather fight about racism and xenophobia because that works better at dividing people

Agreed.

There is still the practical side of leadership too though. Trump is a great example of how you can be right but poor execution leads to losing control of the narrative. Sometimes the execution was so bad it seemed intentional, I don't know.

Obama easily.

Not of his own doing, though. His mere presence as President raised the levels of resentment in closeted racists; Trayvon, Birther movement, his wife being "a man" etc. They couldn't stand an "uppity negro" being the leader of the free world, and took it out by creating dumb conspiracies and empowering for trump.

You mean like when Hillary Clinton started the birther movement or when Joe Biden said Obama was the first articulate and nice looking black man running for office?

Oops.

Oh, and Trayvon was a thug who sealed his fate when he attacked the neighborhood watch volunteer.

2016-2020 term, everyone was at each other's throats when it came to politics. Of course it's Trump.

Mm no, everyone wasn't at everyone's throats. Liberals were at conservatives throats. Get it right, son.

Imagine calling Trump divisive when it was your hatred for him and his supporters that caused the division. Talk about narcissism. Liberals be like: "Vote for someone we approve of or we're going to burn the country down and it's going to be all your fault!" Pathetic

And Trumpers wonder why they are so universally regarded as being complete retards. Believing things like "Hillary started the birther movement!1" simply because Trump told them so.

Every controversy surrounding Trump, aside for Jan 6, was manufactured
Gonna defend my opinion now even though you got a pathetic vendetta:

- border wall to keep out Mexicans
- Muslim countries ban
- Addressed KKK vs Blacks in Charlottesville saying both sides had good people (even if it was taken out of context), going after Obama the way he did (birth certificate, undoing his policies), boldly proclaiming only Lincoln did more for Blacks than him
- Insults galore to both democrats and Republicans. Coined the term RINO.
- Wants to rewrite constitution or something to that effect
- Turned people against FBI and DOJ to the point they wanted to abolish it all.

Whether or not you agree what he did was perfectly justified, he undoubtedly divided the country.
