According to sources, we understand that currently Microsoft are planning a launch for Starfield on PlayStation 5 post the release of the already announced "Shattered Space" expansion for Xbox and PC, which is on target to arrive at some point later this year. We've also been informed that Microsoft have made additional investment into PlayStation 5 dev kits to support ongoing development efforts – adding further fuel to the fire.

As the already existing rumours have suggested, the idea of bringing 1st party titles to competing console platforms marks a massive change in strategy for Microsoft and from what I understand, it's not been without fierce internal debate on this new direction. Releasing Starfield on PlayStation 5 contradicts the original statement around exclusivity made by President of Xbox Sarah Bond, during the Xbox and Bethesda Games Studios summer showcase of 2021.

Knowing how things are going, wouldn't surprise me if Starfield gets a 60fps patch for the PS5 pro while the series x gets nothing.

Pretty wild how badly Microsoft fuked up the post 360 era. The console wars are finally over. Gonna be crazy playing Halo on a PlayStation. Only game I’m interested in is ES6 but judging by Starfield, I probably shouldn’t get my hopes up.

I bought a Series X almost strictly for Starfield.

Game is outdated, trash, and boring.

Constant loading screens, Empty planets, terrible physics, copy and pasted bases, and terrible NPC.

Bethesda is in the retirement home. They're Blockbuster status. Every developer has updated their engine from top to bottom for graphics, physics, no load screens, animations, facial animations. Unreal 5 is MOGGING. IMAGINE playing Starfield with games like GTA 6, Witcher 4, and Wolverine coming.

Not surprising, game was bang average and not the system seller Microsoft needed it to be to justify the ludicrous price of acquiring Bethesda.

They gotta try recoup some losses so there's no point keeping it exclusive.

They didn't really fuk up. It's just nobody plays Xbox anymore because Sonycels trash any new Xbox game. Halo Infinite and Forza are still the best games released in years.

Nah man they ****ed up

The 360 was legit AF, whoever was scouting for them at the time knew their ****, Bioshock, Mass Effect, Oblivion were all timed exclusive to the 360, Microsofts own exclusives like Gears and Halo were still great, they even had underrated exclusive JRPG's like eternal sonata and blue dragon.

PS3 was living off the rep of the PS2 and delivering overhyped trash like Beyond 2 souls and that other cinematic thing I can't even remember the name of.

Honestly if they hadn't ****ed up the Xbox one and had kept the pressure on sonys neck they might have killed the PlayStation brand, but the level they ****ed uo the xbox one was just absoloutley insane, poor decisions cost them so much money it's baffling.

Granted Microsoft are trying harder now but they are doing the wrong things spending stupid money on studios like Bethesda which are bloated and past their prime.

Microsoft need to get back the guy who was scouting for them for the 360 to get out there and find some talented but underfunded studios they can pull some diamonds out of.

If Ponys are going to help fund future Microsoft games, I'm all for it.
Better than the first party dribble they've be putting out since the PS3.

Hopefully the Playstation gets Sea of Thieves and Forza so I have more lads to play with.
Step in the right direction for Sony. But yeah, I can't imagine buying another console after this gen.
