What happened to your hands?

My dynamic ignore set went from 7>14 in one day. It'll be interesting to see how quickly it grows. Lots of alts constantly re-signing up. Once the removal logic is in, any poster that lasts beyond 1 month will show up, so it's a reasonable trade-off.

Edit: just thought of some nice additional functionality. Since a new alt'sthreads will show up until you see one of their posts, the first time you click in the thread is redundant/confusing (since the user's post will be missing). Might be nice to auto-redirect back out of the thread back to the thread list in those instances.

Fairly clueless on the hands. I've had flare-ups with em before. Can't tell if just too much computer/instrument use or maybe some sort of arthritis, but blood tests haven't shown much. Will see a hand specialist next week, so hopefully something comes of that.

That redirect is certainly a nice idea. This little script is starting to turn into a full blown thing.

Nice! I only briefly looked at the new version, but I was thinking the same thing - just remove the outdated users when you're checking whether you need to add them. No edge cases have come to mind yet, but I guess we'll see how it goes.

Ah yeah that figures. 4 years didn't hide me during my testing. Setting 2 and having 1-2 months blocked seems a like a pretty good outcome even if it wasn't wholly intentional.

You have to set the months value to 2 btw, to ensure that. That'll block Jan 2024, plus Feb 2024 join dates.

If you set it to 1, it'll block Feb 2024 join dates only.

The forum doesn't expose the join day, so can't make it rolling.

There's no way around that because user join dates aren't exposed on the/forumdisplay.phppage. Hence, the redirect functionality I added above.

In other words, you must open a thread to block a user (via the dynamic rules) for the very first time. Until then, their threads will display on/forumdisplay.php
