why wouldnt they be? A typical Indian family has SIMPLE needs. A bed, food and their family.

They have not been warped into thinking they need anything else unlike the western world, obsessed with materialism, the allure of casual sex, drugs and drinking LOL.

The main reason Westerners want to leave their parents home is so they can get drink, do drugs and have meaningless casual sex LOL.
I appreciate well thought out subtle trolling.

From an economic POV and just a human POV - Most cultures yearn for family togetherness and unity. It is the best way to grow and have fulfilment in life.

I've watched enough USA tv and film to understand just how dysfunctional the culture is. I really hope it does start to shift eventually.

They move out, because they want to be independent, and maybe they don't want to share a bedroom with their sibling in their mid 20s to 30s.

Maybe they don't have to wait for their dad to finish up in the bathroom, before using it.

You don't have to hate your family to want to have some level of privacy , freedom and independence.

I have all the respect in the world for my folks

The thing is bro your odds of meeting a decent partner while living at home is low...and at some point at 30 + you may want to start living like an adult and progress beyond a high school student mentality

For ex my sister moved across the country? Would I do that? Fk no. So I moved in the same city because I know my time with my family is limited

But there's something nice about having your own spot man , it's worth every single last dollar I spend on it .

the fact is though...any decent woman is going to care more about a man that she wants to spend her life with than simply his current living situation.

Yeah see how well that goes when it comes time for sex or dating

You can't just bring a girl to your parents house all willy nilly in the beginning stages

So unless you find a girl with her own place, you're relationship is gonna be on some highschool chit , and with how competitive it is to get decent women these days most ain't gonna put up with that if they got a guy out there actually living like a mature adult

Maybe

But you gotta flash the big guns early on to appear as a catch

Feeling like that don't exist the first few dates

If you are 30 + and you tell that to your date you live at home , well don't be surprised when she hits Brad later that night who got his own spot

Happiness ratings are generally pointless since everybody has a different idea what it means to be happy. Suicide rates are just the cold hard facts

Yes I live alone, but I don't act like its some flex

Yes as a 30 year old man I do value things like sex. And you are lying to yourself or extremely low test to suggest otherwise

I get the best of both worlds. My folks live 5 mins away in the house I grew up in

But when it's time to get that action , we taking it to my private spot.

Oh OK but you do live alone

What exactly lead to this ?

There's a reason most competent 30 year olds + live away from family wether they like it or not.

It was my parents idea to buy a condo before it was mine..probably because they know everybody has to eventually move on In life

It has itโ€™s benefits. Iโ€™ve been on both sides of this. Lived apart for a few years before being asked to come back. Space and privacy are a necessity, and if you can have that, and still live with family in a multigenerational home, I see no drawbacks. We pay bills, renovate the property, help out with things my parents are too old
to do, etc. My momโ€™s eyes light up when her grandkids go to her kitchen for breakfast. Considering the health of my parents, I like seeing them spend time together regularly.

Two of my grandparents lived and died in another country, and one died when I was very young. I want my kids to know and remember theirs.

Parents live in vancouver, I moved to toronto for better job opportunities

Plan is to build/buy a big house in the near future, so we can live together as they are getting up there in age, and I'm not putting them in a retirement home.

A 3000+SF house on a acreage should be more than enough space

Yeah man I didn't hate my stint at home either

I had the entire attic with a private bathroom etc basically no bills, just stacking and saving working full time .

Chilled with my folks every night smoking weed together..it was open in that way .

But I guess i just wanted a new challenge

It only gets real bad when dudes stay at home and don't even work. Like they couldn't even support themselves if they absolutely had to .

I'll chill with dudes who still live home any day , just don't be some insufferable phgt who doesn't even look after some bills or lift a finger...what I learned is those people are major losers and bad luck , nothing ever good comes to them .

That's admirable bro

It's good you tested the waters independently though

Having a good relationship with parents is a good character indicator

Iโ€™m dealing with that now. Itโ€™s not easy, but manageable. A lot of paperwork and scheduling home health aides. Thereโ€™s usually two around every day. Sometimes I get some to come in out of pocket on days they arenโ€™t scheduled. It can work, but it takes effort.
