Lold at how hypocritical those statements are…

BRB - omg guys your govt. is impinging on your right to access protected speech

BRB- our solution is to deny you your right to access protected speech

Don’t have a problem with it at all, and we should do more to prevent people who are underage from accessing porn. As far as the digital ID, privacy is a myth for the most part nowadays anyway. It’s not difficult at all to determine who visits which sites, and that’s why your ads are so targeted on all your apps. I don’t see this really playing out towards a digital ID to access the Internet, because again all of that is already monitored. I could see it being used as leverage against VPNs though. The next logical step of this process would be to make porn sites have vpn detection so that they block vpn access. All it would take is a few key lawsuits from states or parents who say the site was criminally negligent in enforcing the laws, like someone selling liquor to a minor who then gets hurt from drunk driving or alcohol poisoning.

Source that China is one of the top consumers of porn?….preferably with a per capita ranking since they have a billion people.

Lmao at “well people don’t want to use an id to access it so that means it’s banned”. Either use an id or don’t access it. And if you’re ashamed to have an id tied to it(which again all of that traffic is already easily seen) then perhaps that says more about your behavior than it does about the govt. trying to prevent you from viewing it.

It is part of growing up to fap to naked women and be curious to watch them have sex. If you banned porn for teenage boys completely, you're just going to have a ton more peeping toms.

lmao @ you going with the nothing2hide fascist argument.
Lold at “teenage boys need porn so they don’t turn into peeping toms”. Pron wasn’t easily available to everyone until the 2000s, and before that there wasn’t some huge amount of peeping toms. An introducing porn didn’t make the number of them decrease.

Shows just how twisted society has gotten when people say “watching people have sex and jerking off is just part of the daily experience of being a teen”.

Reddit gone wild has more quality nudes than any other porn site. There's probably some porn on some sub reddits too.

Per capita wasn't the point. The claim was China is the top consumer of porn and bans porn. That they have 1.5 billion people should have made that obvious to you. India might have passed them by now.
1.) Those stats are 10 years old.

2.) are you arguing that restrictions are pointless because it’s impossible to get rid of porn? No one saying it’s reasonable to think you can ban it 100%. But restrictions can reduce usage, which can be good.

Again, they didn’t ban pornhub. They just want an age verification process in place like we have with cigarettes or alcohol. So pornhub got mad and restricted access altogether in the hopes that with people would get mad and complain to their representatives. It would be like a liquor store getting mad about having to id customers so they shut themselves down.

Well

Anyway you look at this, literally all this will accomplish in a practical sense is losing the GOP votes and speeding up Texas's destiny of turning blue. Do you think Democrats won't just change everything right back when they gain power? This sort of chit also causes blue/purple states to stay blue/blue-ish when people there hear that this is the kinda stuff red states are up to, so it also hurts the GOP nationally.

At some point, you've gotta be realistic.

Possibly, but it’s also possible that without porn you would be much better off. It could’ve easily affected you negatively. I mean, we know it affects people…and if it isn’t positive then it’s negative. Also, the internet in general has lead to more social anxiety and other issues. And porn plays a role in that effect.

Also, and I say this with no disrespect, but I wouldn’t say you are a good example of who we should base our laws around. And again, it’s also quite likely that your assumption is wrong, and that without the internet/porn you’d be much better-suited to live a happy life.

Even if it isn’t “uniquely damaging” to teens, it’s still damaging. And if they are developing it will affect them more. It also completely skews the perception of sex and relationships. Luckily I had sex a good bit before getting into regular porn viewing. But imagine someone who has never had sex yet watched porn for a few years…their perceptions would be completely out of touch with reality. Hell, it can still affect mine and I’ve had sex literally thousands of times. Plus to tie it back to the other comparisons….cigarettes and alcohol aren’t “uniquely damaging” to kids and teens, but we realize those are things they shouldn’t have easy access to.

And then the kid jumps off the network and accesses it via mobile data.The. Then the parent blocks it via their phone, so the teen turns their device into a mobile hotspot, connects to it on their laptop, and then accesses whatever site they want. Parent takes the laptop so they just borrow a device from their friend. And that’s before even getting into the 438 other ways a teen could get around it. And yes, there are ways to get around blocks on some of the sites themselves, but that’s true of basically everything we try to restrict.

Then it's time to legalize prostitution. It will solve everything. Nevada already does it.

Yeah I think that’s a good point with regards to the different types. In that way, porn is too general of a term just like the term drugs. Big difference between watching a man and a woman have sex in a regular way compared to watching some woman get tied up and stuffed with 8 different d!cks while being face fukkt until she pukes. But that’s one of the problems with porn, the direction that viewing habits goes generally only travels in one direction. And to be honest, I can’t even remember the last time I watched porn that just involved one man and one woman having regular sex.

Yeah I agree with this point other than thinking that will solve everything. The world would be a lot better off if porn was only accessible to people 18+ and prostitution was legal for those 18+.

Everyone in this thread who is cheering on the concept of a porn ban has masturbated to pornographic work countless times. Probably thousands of times in total, being mostly dudes in their 30's and 40's. These same guys were the fiercest of porn downloaders back in the Limewire days when they were coming up in life.

Now they want bans lmao

I think shootings will go up. You're just going to sexually frustrate the sexually frustrated even more by giving them no outlet of release.

Like someone else said, you're better off banning social media apps and dating apps. The social dynamics are out of balance is the major problem for relationships in the first place. We need to ban the things women are taking advantage of and abusing if you really want a healthier mental state across the population

I agree with your food analogy, but I do not agree with your statement that regular and consistent exposure to sexual content creates a compulsive sex drive.

The drive is in our biology, just as our drive to eat foods that taste good is. I agree that the obesity epidemic is a result of this drive combined with regular and consistent exposure. But I would not agree that desire for tasty food is created by this environment - the desire is already there, the environment simply lets us indulge in it. There is, however, a critical difference. Eating tasty food is ACTUALLY satisfying our needs for tasty food when we consume it. Its not a cheap, virtual replacement. Watching porn does not ACTUALLY satisfy our sexual needs. I can guarantee you that if you gave a man the option between having sex with 4 different, beautiful women every week - but with no possibilities to masturbate, OR zero sex but endless porn and masturbation, he would 100% select the women, every time. But for most men today, this isn't an option. Their sexual drives are not being met at all. The only thing keeping them sane is the access to pornography. Everyone can go order a pizza and indulge in their desires. This does not apply to sex.

I do agree that a combination of womens sexual liberation, SoMe etc. makes it worse, in that our society is constantly being sexualized. If a man were to even attempt to ignore his desires, it would be essentially impossible without moving to a cabin in the woods. But the core issue here is that we all know that we cannot reverse time, and technology and egalitarianism is here to stay. And in a free sexual market, there are winners and there are losers. And we should do our best to keep the losers as happy as possible.

You're being dishonest to imply that this isn't about implementing a de facto ban

Honestly, what's the difference between finding a stash of porn magazines and VHS tapes and what we have today? Other than the instant access to all kinds of weird fetish chit, but frankly people who are into that chit will get into it one way or the other regardless of what road blocks you try to put in place.

You also didn't deny that you're a porn user userself and have fapped to it countless times like the rest of men who have an ounce of test
