na the flyers dont play a boring defensive style, they just work hard af. I can see them putting a scare in a good team and taking them 6-7 games, just out of hustle and being physical. Issue is even if they did make it out of the first they would be dead tired, goaltending is eh and the PP is dreadful

I've seen torts implement a defense first structure in the playoffs far too often, God his playoff games as a Rangers coach were so boring. Perhaps he has evolved though.

Jets are collapsing in real time they always pull this chit right before the playoffs. Go on a huge losing streak then out ASAP in the first round.

5 game homestand at least got a point vs Oilers, but Vegas next. Need to get their act together the Special Teams is well "Special" Absolutely dreadful. Can't even get any zone entries on a double minor penalty just lmao.

I completely agree with this Flyers in the playoffs is always fun especially when you have Torts, and Flyers fans are pretty rabid. I'd rather Caps in over Det as much as I love me some Kaner I just think they would get slaughtered first round in 5 or swept.

Going to Wings Canes tonight. Stepdad got free tickets. Even as a Caps fan, I’m pulling for Detroit. Caps can jump Philly and Det can get WC

Hoping to head up to Edmonton for the first 2 games of the playoffs. But fuk me if we have to play LA again. I don’t want Vegas because if stones spleen is magically healed by game 1 which it will be that’s a solid team. But LA will be out for blood. Matchup wise it’s great but LA isn’t going to roll over that’s for damn sure.

Huge for Caps vs B’s tonight. Just win out and let the other teams do what they do and see what happens. At this rate just what you can. LFG!

Also lol at people making means about being -40 as a team. The caps win games 2-1 3-2 but when they lose they lose by 3 give or take. Often it’s an EN goal or two. I get -40 is bad but the stat doesn’t tell the story.

That said, they need to play run and gun like they did verse Tampa. They win those back and forth games. It’s when they try to sit back and play conservative they get in trouble. The other team always gets up 1 and the caps can’t turn it on with enough time to catch up.


Caps need atleast a point tonight. Even so, without winning these next 2 I think they are done.

Reminds me of 07/08 when caps beat Florida 3-1 in their final game. Then Florida had to play in Carolina the next night and beat them in regulation for the Caps to clinch the South East and make the post season after being last on Thanksgiving before Boudreau was hired.

Florida had 9 penalties that game. Carolina 0. Living in Raleigh they were running playoff hype ads and tickets etc. Florida won the game. Caps got the playoff spot and Carolina missed.

Saying all that, 3-1 Caps tonight and a series vs NYR
