I Cringe So Hard At People That Live In The Gym

Every time I go to the gym there are two talkative mfers that are always there

I’m doing my workout and I see them walking around just doing nothing like they want someone to talk to or they want a longer reason to stay there

Doesn’t matter what time I go, morning, noon or night they are always there

You people need help srs

It's pretty weird bro. I've seen people have proper lunches in the gym, and no, not personal trainers

Maybe theyre depressed and the gym is all they have, and talking to you brightens their day and keeps them from roping.

fukin this

There’s one personal trainer that’s always there but I get it, he works there and he’s always with clients

But these mfers just live there. It blows my mind. And yeah I’ve seen people carry Tupperware and eat in the locker room

One of them is in good shape, the other is mid (respectable for commercial gym standards) but they both seem mentally ill srs.

They are sad people. Extroverts desperate for human connection but nobody likes them. Doesn't help that living inside gyms turn you even more autistic. Probably lonely as fuk when the gym eventually closes down.

I don't look down on them anymore

Just pure pity

there are some people i would see at the gym any day i would go between like 3 and 8. all i could figure is that they go every day or almost every day for 3-5 hours. kinda annoying for some reason even though they did nothing to me.

They could be doing a lot worse things.
I have seen homeless that use the lockers and shower, old people that use it to talk to someone, and gym fanatics that are addicted.
I do my 3-4 days and get out just like always, none of my business.

their eyes wonder around desperately looking for someone to have a convo with

and when u have one convo with them, u gotta acknowledge them everytime you go to the gym which gets annoying as fuk

add into the fact that they live there so u'll eventually dread seeing their stupid ass hoping they don't wanna have a convo that day

You're there enough to keep tabs on them, watch their patterns, and develop a strong opinion about them. You even came here to make a thread.

Is it going to dawn on you, brah?
The closer we approach the uncertainty of life's ending the more we wish to trade all of the things we have acquired in exchange for all of the things we have lost: wealth for youth, knowledge for fresh curiosity, resignation for hope. We'd trade our wisdom for new experiences, but it is wisdom that will teach us that at the end of the road the only new experience is death.

these people should find rec centers instead, at least they have deli's and places to sit down and eat, plus they're nicer

youre probably right. i could see they already had like a group of 5 or 6 that would chit chat every time i was there. the one i saw as the ring leader obviously liked to talk and as one of the group came in i'd hear a loud "heyyyy man....watchu workin on today" then they proceed to talk about workouts, how much yesterdays session killed them, what they would work on together, supplements, sports and other crap...the free weight area isn't that big so everyone can hear loud talking.

Some people just love the gym; the social nature, the noise, the smells, the sights etc.

during my whole workout today, a group of 3-4 20 something dudes literally just sat in a circle chit chatting next to where people setup for sled pulls. Then they got up and hung out by the pullup/dip bar and continued to chit chat while never doing a dip or pullup

honestly so ****ing confused

yeah I tried to be friendly with regular gym goers and it turned into daily small talk so I started avoiding eye contact

apparently everyone thinks I have these magical headphones that turn off the second someone initiates conversation with me
