Enable 2FA On Your Accounts

Fuark brevs.

Make sure you're using a password manager to randomize passwords, and using 2FA through the Authenticator app, phone, or email if possible. Check your emails & accounts for suspicious activity/IP or device logins foreign to you & change pw + log them out. Emails & banking are top priority along with anything with access to your payment information. Leave the pron websites for last. Get anti-malware software like Malwarebytes and run a deep scan. BitDefender is nice, too. And if you're screwed on the system level, run anti-virus software (possibly stop internet connection,) transfer files out of your main drive, prepare to format your PC using a bootable USB, format, continue to update accounts after anti-virus installed and ran on reformatted pc.

Lawddd. I had quite the week. BitDefender caught it initially too, but I thought it was the file (.exe) I needed so I added an exception, lol.

"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

Use hardware security keys wherever possible. Cons are if you lose or break them but get 2 minimum and ideally store one off site somewhere.

TOTP I don't sync the keys to the cloud and just have them on like I think 7 different devices (yubikeys can also store them).

Prefer everything local but make backups.

One thing that can help with password breaches is to add your passwords to a password manager (randomly generated) but on top of that, add some sort of prefix/suffix that you'll remember and don't add that part to your password. So like say your password manager has "abc123". Your actual password would be like "preabc123" where you remember the pre part but leave the rest in the password manager. If someone see ur passwords, they don't know the "pre" part....if that made sense.

Honestly, pretty good advice.

And yes, once things are in the cloud, they can be accessed from anywhere. If you've got multiple physical devices backing up your pw's, that's more secure than on someone's else's servers. Brootal reality. srs.

Getting hacked was 100% my fault. Even the best security faulters if you willingly let bad actors inside. From now on I'm separating business/RL from gaming/entertainment, so multiple PCs/emails/etc. fuuark.

Honestly the way things are going, your devices are terminals at this point. Everything is becoming a SaaS.

You'll literally own nothing.

Dam did u get hacked? Idk if email aliases would make thing easier (I know apple has them and proton too). Makes it easier to remember one account and just spawn emails for different services.
But ya same issue that one account is tied to everything.

Exactly why I stopped using MSFT Office. Not going to pay for subscription access, I want to own the software. You can find keys for that though.

I keep everything in my pw manager, but I'm downsizing once I got this chit under control, making a couple new email accounts and consolidating what i have to those, and nuking old, but i'm sure i've got those under control.

I woke up with a guy gifting ppl on my friends list video games (even my own account) with my money, smh. Had to kick all devices and reset password + added another 2fa.

I started doing 2FA a while ago and I also stopped talking bad about Israel because they threatened to get into the bank accounts of people who talk bad about Israel.

Got all the money refunded and account restricted until I respond to support, so that's good. It's looking promising for now. I'll spend the next month vigorously monitoring things and settings up alerts, protections, precautions that assist ceasing and blocking any malicious intent.

2FA is great, brah. Don't let your guard down. Super secure your most valuables.
