If you drink then "abstinence" is the obvious answer.

I did once, and I ended up abstaining from alcohol, getting to a healthy bmi, and stopping supplements and that fixed it. I went all in on health

stop doing anything that harms the liver first and foremost. alcohol/certain medications, etc.

invest in a quality liver supplement like nutriissa cycle support

what was your BMI and what did you drop it to?

I also take supplements and heard that can raise it.. which seems counter intuitive.

Believe it or not, there are NUMEROUS studies showing drinking 3-5 cups of coffee a day aids in liver health and reduction of ALT/AST levels (srs)

I remember reading about that... was it the antioxidants or the caffeine itself?

I did, turns out the multi I was taking had too much Vitamin A or something, it was a twice a day liquid gel. Took only the mornign dose, everything went back to normal. Your level is elevated but not like dangerously elevated, same with mine.

yea if you go on alcoholic forums they have levels in the hundreds. I just want to get it under control ASAP.

I was also dropping weight before the test looks like that can elevate as others mentioned

It's not the caffeine.

"Coffee protects the liver primarily by reducing inflammation, halting the buildup of scar tissue (fibrosis), and preventing liver cancer. It contains active compounds like polyphenols, chlorogenic acid, and caffeine that lower oxidative stress and improve lipid metabolism."

Go to your doctor. There are so many factors that can cause your ALT to be elevated that we're just throwing darts with guesses.

Thats where the blood work was done. He wasn't overly concerned since I have a pattern of it being higher here and there and coming back down. Recheck in 3 months

I've never really paid any attention but growing older I want to get it under control

I don't remember, normal over the counter stuff. Now Adam was the multi, probably fish oil, maybe vit d if it was winter, nothing crazy. But that was the doctor's recommendation, stop taking everything for 6 weeks (your liver can completely heal itself in 6 weeks unless you have Cirrhosis).

Your helpful supplements may be your issue
