Thanks Ryan! you were one of the miscers that wanted me to post this! Alcohol and substances only lead to temporary mood, it also's ruins relationships, Just have to grab your balls and be a man about it and know its not the end of the road. I have people to inspire and people to prove wrong. Thanks for the support homie.

Wow op that's incredible, srs. I don't know if I would have the strength to do what you did. Sounds like you had an awesome family that really made the difference. I've got a couple of questions though.

How much did that cost after everything was done? The icy stay, life support, amputation, are you pretty much going to be paying that the rest of your life?

Did you talk to any or the first responders after you recovered? I don't know what they were thinking but they had to have thought theirs no way you were going to live. Looking at that picture and not knowing the story, I would have bet anything you were dead or were gonna die.

Op it's pretty remarkable what you've been through. Reps m8

I tried to when I first came home and realized it wasn't there to help me but now I am just adapted to everything with just one arm.

Honestly when I looked at the hospital bill it was a little over a million dollars and the insurance covered every penny of it thankfully, I would hate to have that debt for the rest of my life! and yes I do! The one Volunteer Fire Department does a train garden every year around Christmas time I go there and meet with some of the people that saved my life, and talk to the Chief over phone every now and then and I donate money to them, the thing is I was a junior fire fighter at that fire department and the ones that were training me helped save my life. Thanks man I appreciate it!

I don't have a gym membership because of budgeting, I work 70+ hours while she stays home with the kids, the complex we live in has community gym so I go there and do cardio and lift on the machines but they don't have any free weights, they should have dumbbells in the next week or so. Hopefully soon, I need to find 1 arm friendly exercises with dumbbells

Someone with your weight will likely develop reasonably strong core muscles just by going through your typical routine. This core strength will be essential for one-arm exercises, but the nice thing is that with that powerful core that you will be able to stabilize your body in compensation for the lack of your arm.

You're on the right side for dumbbell exercises, I think that if you anchor through your core then you will actually be able to do most traditional dumbbell exercises at a low weight and gradually increase as your core strength improves. It's like paralympic athletes who have been living like this all their lives yet still manage to throw up large weights-- insane core strength allows them to maintain that body line even though only one side is active.

very inspiring and puts things into perspective with the LDAR guys who complain about pilthrum, canthal tilt, not having a model hairline and stuff.

Just 1 signed up in 2010 on this site but fell off the wagon, almost 3 weeks ago I came back on to start my journey. And about the 1 pec yes only one is going to get big because I don't have muscle in my left pec because they had to take it out to help repair the gaping hole on my neck, I also don't have a left collar bone and my left shoulder blade is done. I'm going to look weird with only 1 pec muscle

I believe there are a couple models that are out there that are that advanced - it's controlled with the mind and the wearer can feel round thinks, sharp things, etc but they may not yet be commercialized. To top it off, they'll probably be expensive as ****, like in the high 5-figures or even 6-figures since it's cutting edge. All that being said, they may not work for someone who had their entire arm amputated. Either way, science is advancing at a spectacular rate and wouldn't be surprised if there was a product out on the market in 5-10 years.
