I would argue that the orthopedic surgeon saved me, you can tell he was a chad back in the day too. The other person id argue saved me was the very nice older Filipino nurse on the night shift. srs. She was in there trying to distract me from the pain, asking me about my life, giving me all the drugs I asked for. She rubbed my back during the worst of it, felt like I had a mother again for the first time in a decade. srs =[

Also, I wrote that as my wife was over my shoulder miscing with me. That helped me get sucked dry.

General update: 6 days since the accident. My MIL has been in town holding it down for us, super thankful for her. Wife is starting to get her bearings on doing everything. I have had a ton of coworkers come by and deliver us frozen meals. I am happy that I build meaningful relationships with those around me, I support them when necessary and they have now returned the favor.

Foot is feeling bleh as expected. It is less bone pain and way more nerve pain. The percs do not work nearly as well as the gabapentin (nerve blockers), however, I am being weened off of both at this point. Next Friday is the meeting with the ortho surgeon. I look forward to talking to him about next steps (lol) and my trajectory. My goal is to be able to walk around my yard by end of summer. On a side note, the area I am having more issues with are my shoulders. Between the awkward laying positions for 23hr a day and the walker being my only method of transport, they are really aching me right now. Need to law low today/tomorrow and let these suckers heal.

9 Days since chopping. Still just laying in bed. I was able to clap my wifes cheek earlier (very awkwardly), erupted the largest load ever deep into her. Felt good man. Foot is healing from a pain perspective, still get some episodes/spikes but its for sure mending. Weening myself off the percs, moving to every 8 hours instead of 6. Sleep has been relatively good.

I have an appointment with my surgeon next Friday where he will take my wrapping off and I get to see my foot for the first time since I got to the hospital. I can for sure feel the edge of my stump on my toe, its freaky lol. I am excited to move to the next phase of healing (where I can bear weight onto my foot). My left leg is seriously tight, will need some time before it loosens up. With any luck, I hope to have a semblance of normal life here before summer ends. CBRO out.
