Valuation is a scam.

I had an equity analysis professor tell me valuation is as much of an art as it is a science. From that point onwards I knew financial markets were all about manipulation and making shit up.

Brb accounting for shit like "goodwill" and forecasting cash flows 20 years out and figuring out terminal values based on some growth rate in 20 years that noone on this earth could possibly ever know because fucking industries that exist today don't even exist in 20 years.

I am not a fan of dual-class shareholder structures but also nobody is holding a gun to people's head and forcing them to buy in.

Also SpaceX is actually a very valuable company. Just possibly not worth $1.75tn.

he made bag holders out of retail traders, its on purpose, he has so many early investors of his non public companies and gave them space x shares so they could unload as a favor, they over did it, they should have priced it lower to atleast let it run up a bit instead of tank. His own investors cant even sell yet. but they did change the rules to allow them to sell earlier than usual

they do that for businesses and people all the time

the kardashians especially the younger two, kylie jenner or whatever they wanted to be declared billionaires for Forbes so they could get the free publicity. of course they dont have an actual book value aka 1 billion in assets, but they did funny jew math to just declare whatever arbitrary dollar value needed on her "brand name" to close the gap. so maybe she had 400-500 million in actual assets but then the other half a billion in brand name worth, future income or whatever funny jew math to just declare themselves billionaires.

The only time anyone ever really knows a brand names value is when its getting sold and gets a real offer made. like an elvis presley estate selling his likeness or george foreman selling his rights back for the grill for something crazy like 200 million


space x dont even turn a profit they loose money but with magical jew math and imaginary future dollars and suposedly brand recognition though 60% of the world hates them now they can say that is worth 1.9 trillion dollars.

yahoo finance and the like should be required to put down book values right next to the market capitalization listed. And then everytime a 100 million dollar rocket blows up during launch subtract that out of their book value
