I was able to move the fridge about an inch before making contact with this counter. Surprisingly, the fridge door still wouldn't open enough. Any other suggestions?

Pull the fridge out about 3-4 inches so it will turn enough toopen the door fully, insert the shelf, turn the fridge back and then push the fridge back in to the slot.

Professional fridge installer here:

Pull the fridge away from the wall, into the middle of the kitchen, thus allowing you to open the door enough to slide the shelf in. When fridge installers, like myself, install a fridge we will normally slide the fridge into place with all of the shelving and trays already in the fridge. Which I believe is where your problem is coming from. I attached one of our trouble shooting manuals below. Lucky it is the exact blueprint of your hotel room.

Edit: Buncha wizards up there ^ But I would only take the advice of a professional appliance installer. Carrying out this task incorrectly could be costly.

I couldn't pull any further because the power cable caught. I couldn't get past it to get back to the cable. It's still sitting there while I ask the misc for advice.
