Pretty unimpressed. The new controller is alright, but kind of gimmicky. Mine is loud as fuk when there’s a disc in the drive. If I could go back I’d have sold this one too and waited until they were just sitting on the shelf
Is it just the disc drive that’s loud?
For those of you who have used both, how noisy is the PS5 fan compared to the PS4 Pro (older model, before Sony released the quieter CUH-7200 series)? I’ve heard the non pro version can also get quite loud.

I'm not sure what version PS4 Pro I have but my Pro(Got it around 2019/2020 if that means anything) gets loud as **** when playing certain games(Wolfenstein, Last Of Us Part 2) It'll get loud than quiet after a short period of time.

If you have money to spare .... no reason not to, just to play the current games in their best possible version and best versions of older titles which have received ps5 upgrades.

If you're on a budget and cant spend so much money, then theres nothing worth playing that justifies the price point at this time, especially given the fact that most games are cross gen and ps5 only exclusives wont really ramp up 2022 onwards.

I'm personally glad I got one because gaming is in a fkked up state these days with ps5 shortage / gfx card shortage / prike hikes. I'm content knowing my ps5 will last a few good years until theres a ps5 pro and that my current pc is still kicking strong until gfx cards stabilise.

If my PS4 hadn't been tanking I'd be regretting the purchase. Is literally just a streaming machine until game releases start picking up.

FWIW, i have the disc version, and as soon as i boot up call of duty i can hear the PS5....i have the coil whine people have complained about since release,it's annoying but i use headphones exclusively when using the console so I dont hear it during use, but it's there and it shouldn't be. Also, I bought my brother the digital version and his doesnt get any louder from idle to in game.

I think you have the later model so that’s kinda surprising. It sounds similar to the older version pro I have, which gets ridiculously loud, quiet and then loud again. Sounds like a jet plane is about to take off in my living room.

Haha, it’s bad I know. I joined originally to use the BodySpace section but ended up mainly reading the articles and lurking some threads on exercises/nutrition whenever I came back (unfortunately there were some long breaks in between).
Thanks for letting me know about the coil whine issue. I would have to get the disc version so hope Sony sorts it out at some point.

Lol, it’s more than I’ve ever posted in both my Instagram and Twitter accounts, which to date still have 0 photos and 0 tweets. Last time I posted anything on ******** was years ago but I do check it out every few weeks (and might even like a photo or two if I’m feeling generous). I’ll have a look around more of this site’s forum section though.
