35 Years Ago Today Russia Killed 62 Americans.Ronald Reagan Kicked Butt!!!

By continuing his California vacation and not returning to Washington....
Korean Air Lines Flight 007 was a scheduled Korean Air Lines flight from New York City to Seoul via Anchorage, Alaska. On 1 September 1983, the South Korean airliner serving the flight was shot down by a Soviet Su-15 interceptor. The Korean airliner eventually crashed in the sea near Moneron Island west of Sakhalin in the Sea of Japan. All 269 passengers and crew aboard were killed,(62 were American)including Larry McDonald, a Representative from Georgia in the United States House of Representatives.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korean...nes_Flight_007
Reagan also continued his vacation at his ranch in Santa Barbara when a Soviet Su-15 shot down Korean Airlines Flight 007 in 1983, killing all 289 aboard – including sixty-two American citizens and Representative Larry McDonald (D-GA). The Soviet Union claimed that the plane was spying in restricted airspace and was a provocation by the West. The incident could have potentially caused an international conflict –but FOX’s Chris Wallace recounts that “quite frankly he [Reagan] didn’t want to leave. And his advisers realized how terrible this looked, and eventually persuaded him he had to fly back to Washington and had to give this speech to the nation, but it did take him four days.” Only after CBS released photos of Reagan on horseback did the President return to Washington.

62 Americans slaughtered by the godless Communist but Ronald Reagan stayed on vacation and rode his pony around his ranch instead of consoling his fellow Americans and showing resolve in the face of unspeakable tragedy.

It gets better.....
Reagan wrote this in his diarythat evening: "We were due to return to Wash. on Labor Day but realized we couldn’t wait so we left on Fri.It was heartbreaking. I had really looked forward to those last three days.

Is the this the best can do?
What was he supposed to do? Nuke Moscow?

Its not like he ordered the military to stand down while Americans were under active attack in Benghazi.

Are you referring to Hillary? The Secretary of State doesn't have the authority to ordered the US Military to stand down or undertake an attack.Neither does the Secretary of Agriculture, the Secretary of Labor, the Secretary of Energy,or even the Secretary of Stupid,Inbred,Southern Conservatives.

You would know this if you ever attended a single class at your Trailer Park Elementary School.

This is how Ectroll copes with the fact that his queen still isn’t president.

Aren't they a pitiful lot?
They've spent the last 30 years saying Reagan was a war monger who was itching to start WW3 with the USSR, but now all of a sudden he was a wimp for not starting WW3 with the USSR.

Speaking of vacations...

http://www.latimes.com/nation/politi...htmlstory.html
President Obama is facing a backlash for continuing his annual Martha’s Vineyard vacation as widespread flooding has damaged tens of thousands of homes and killed at least 13 people in Louisiana.
Meanwhile...

President Trump gave so much aid to Puerto Rico that containers full of unused donations were found rotting months after Hurricane Maria...

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/08/10/u...-rico-aid.html
SAN JUAN, P.R. — At least 10 trailers full of food, water and baby supplies donated for victims of Hurricane Maria were left to rot at a state elections office in Puerto Rico, where they broke open and became infested by rats.

From my understanding the Soviets mistook the Boeing 747 for a US RC-135 (recon plan) and because it was pitch dark (night time), the Soviet pilot couldn't tell a passenger aircraft from military. The Soviets also tried to radio the plane but it was on a frequency that could not be picked up by the passenger plane. Then the Soviet fighter jet fired warning shots but the fighter jet did not have tracer bullets and none of the pilots in 007 could see or hear the warning shots. And ultimately Soviet Air defense commanders gave the order to shoot down the plane before it reached international air space.

At least that's the official story from the Soviet side.

Obama was taking a sweet ass golf vacation while 13 Americans lost their lives and thousands more were left homeless. That's how.

But of course, you suddenly don't care about the dead and suffering when things don't line up with your partisan political affiliation.

So Obama should have returned to Washington and condemned Mother Nature for too much rain?

Rain and flooding are national disasters that occur all the time.

The Russians shooting down a Commercial Airliner and killing 62 Americans including an American Congressman is an unacceptable international crisis that the President of the United States should be managing from the White House with his entire Cabinet.

Reagan should have returned to Washington immediately and addressed the nation on the situation and what steps would be taken to punish the Russians.

He didn't.

He stayed on vacation and rode his horsy around his ranch while America was looking for leadership and strength.

It didn't come from Ronald Reagan.

was reading about this the other day coincidence?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Larry_McDonald

Lawrence Patton McDonald (April 1, 1935 – September 1, 1983) was an American politician and a member of the United States House of Representatives, representing Georgia's 7th congressional district as a Democrat from 1975 until he was killed while a passenger on board Korean Air Lines Flight 007 when it was shot down by Soviet interceptors.

A conservative Democrat, McDonald was active in numerous civic organizations and maintained a very conservative voting record in Congress. He was the prime mover in dedicating two statues in the US Congress Capitol Rotunda to prominent African-American leaders. He was known for his staunch opposition to communism. He was the second president of the John Birch Society, and also a cousin of General George S. Patton.[1]

Quotations

"[T]he drive of the Rockefellers and their allies is to create a one-world government, combining super-capitalism and Communism under the same tent, all under their control ... Do I mean conspiracy? Yes I do. I am convinced there is such a plot, international in scope, generations old in planning, and incredibly evil in intent."

(Speaking of Carroll Quigley, a history professor at Georgetown University: "He says, Sure we've been working it, sure we've been collaborating with communism, yes we're working with global accommodation, yes, we're working for world government. But the only thing I object to, is that we've kept it a secret."[35]

"I personally believe that we don't need a lot more laws, I think we've got far too many laws on the books now, that's part of the problem.... We don't need more government, more laws; we need a lot less. I'm up there [in Washington, D.C.], trying to dismantle a lot of this giant government.... When you 'pass a law' with the current attitude in the Congress what do you get in a law today? You get either more spending, or more taxes, or more controls.... Which do you want? Do you want more spending? I think we've got too much. Do you want more taxes? I think we're taxed too heavily now. Do you want more controls over your life? Does anybody say 'Hey look, I really believe the federal government needs to control me. I want to be a slave. Please tell me how to run every facet of my life.' I don't hear many people saying that. I think most people say 'I think it's time we get the government off our backs, and out of our pockets.'"[11]

Quotes about McDonald

"There is a real question in my mind that the Soviets may have actually murdered 269 passengers and crew on the Korean Air Lines Flight 007 in order to kill Larry McDonald." – Jerry Falwell, The Washington Post (September 2, 1983).
