It makes sense that people who are building the future technologically would be drawn to utopian progressive political ideologies. There is absolutely nothing interesting in conservatism/reactionary thought for a creative and sharp mind. Very few are marxists though, more like champagne socialists. Also a huge amount of techies are hardcore libertarians since the 90s

To work at ******** or Google you need a college degree, and in many cases graduate degrees. Colleges are extremely liberal. The more education you have, the more you lean towards being liberal.

Yeah, never understood the STEM love on Misc, considering it'sliterallythe field of liberals, leftists, SJWs, marxists and etc. I'd be all for it if it wasn't left-leaning and full of those types.

There are 6 types of lefties in modern day America. 95% of them fall into one or more of these groups these days, very few can be considered high information moderates anymore. The vast majority of people in these groups are not net contributors to society, they are a drain on society.

1) Social outcasts and mentally ill fringe dwellers that despise normal people living normal lives.
2) Gullible, highly impressionable women who follow the social herd like lemmings as they virtue signal endlessly
3) Minority groups filled with jealousy and hatred for both white and heritage America
4) Minority groups looking for freebies, open borders for their cousins and fewer consequences for illegal activity and crime.
5) Low information voters who just lap up what the media spoon feeds them or their professors put into their dense skulls
6) Old school union guys who don’t understand that the left hates the working class as much as it does white conservatives now.

Techies tend to have an overwhelming number of people in group 1. Low test weaklings and fatties who got stuffed in the locker end up in tech very frequently. These social outcasts form weird little groups and sub cultures, which are drawn to ideologies which criticize and attack the kind of people they resent: normies.

They just screech the loudest. It's really a mix of people.

Union tradesman almost always vote dem. Lots of libertarians in software and tech.

I work in a scientific/mfg field and it's probably 90% conservative libertarian or nothing with maybe 10% old hippies or socialists. Science is about objective truths.

I work for a managed IT services provider and we're basically stemcel-tradie hybrids.

Most of my company are outspoken Trumpers. We're also a small business of around 50-60 employees though. I'm sure the global corporations are where the really far left leaning techcels reside
