There is a trend that has been taking place in New York City and New York state isn't that far behind where the people leaving New York are higher income people who are bringing in the revenue. The "the rich don't pay taxes" is pure communist propaganda, the fact is that 90% of the taxes are paid by 50% of the population, 72% of the taxes are paid by the top 10% and the top 1% are paying 40 of that percent. So just do the math, just a single 1% earner leaves, how many 10%ers are you going to need to make up for that, how about upper 50%ers?
After the lights and cameras turn off and reporters leave, doors close and they get down to business, even people who were supportive of him a minute ago are going to be like "look you idiot, we have a problem and you better do something about it".
NYC is shady and all of NY is. I've read about how once you have lived in NY, after you leave, even if your residence isn't there and you live in another state, if you own any property they will expect you to pay NY income tax. You don't have to own all of that property either. After that they will try to make you pay taxes for 2 full years after you have gotten rid of that property.

every $$$ dems can muster is going to NYC so hochel gets re-elected.
i have no idea how that will affect dems politicians outside the state but i can tell you who is up for re-election by how they blame every problem NY has on Trump daily on social media.
