At least 12 states and more than 200 cities and counties maintain some form of policy or sanctuary protection aimed at keeping ICE out of courthouses.

Reminds me a bit of liberal logic like when they accuse you of being a Trumper if you wear patriotic colors to celebrate the 4th.

I still consider crimes committed by the state to be crimes though. Maybe I’m old fashioned.

If we weren't spineless retards we could hold the state to the ground rules that give them the power to act like a criminal entity. I guess that's the fantasy.

I don't think we will, we're too happy pitting sides against each for personal gain to ever reign in government. So I'll immediately contradict myself and say realistically you're right, if we accept it at all then it will inevitably end up being too much. Too bad really. Hope I'm not around to see how it ends.

Its just not rational to create a category of people that live in a moral inversion and expect restraint of any kind. Thats why there is always so much effort put into justifying it - otherwise it would sound ridiculous. For thousands of years it was sold as an elevated status linked to a diety, then rousseau replaced god with a social contract that is just as ethereal but more appealing to a secular society.
