I don’t have the link, but I watched a decent YouTube doc the other day about why Japan decided to attack Pearl Harbor. They essentially gambled that the US wouldn’t have the stomach to fight back and would choose to negotiate instead.

The lessons not learned reminded me a bit of our recent attack on Iran.
