Do you even Homeric, Dalton, and Spörer Minimum brah?? Sunspot minimums coincide with lower average temperatures.

But, we youre correct with the ice age chit. We were in an ice age very recently (as far as the age of the earth goes) until a global cataclysmic event. It makes sense that fore the significant future we will warm up a little until we reach an equilibrium. Then it would make sense it cools back down.

Humans should definitely adopt more sustainable and environmentally friendly ways of living, across the board, no question. Having said that....

There's no way we're going to "destroy the planet inside of 5 years." That's phucking stupid. We overestimate how easily the Earth could shake us off like a bad case of the fleas. We ignore the fact the climate will always be an ever-changing thing, regardless of what we're doing.

Giant swirls of trash in the ocean? Get rid of 'em. Clean energy? Develop 'em. Trying to whip people into a frenzy about a man-made climate apocalypse? We should stop doing that and start speaking more rationally.

I am glad to see we still have a good measure of intelligent, rational people around...........but just remember fella's, this next generation is not being taught logic, or to be free thinkers! They truly believe that humans have the capacity to change the weather!!!

"were in an ice age very recently"..... actually many would define us currently to be in an ice age (are there ice sheets at the poles? are there glaciers on our mountains?)....while being in an interglacial period. The person I responded to likely had "glacial period", which we haven't seen in over 10,000 years, in mind with the term "ice age", and no, there is hardly evidence of solar minimums "causing" this (none of your minimums fall into this range)- it's likely a matter of earth's orbit and other factors. In fact not a whole lot is known exactly how much solar minimums affect climate, but it is probably not a whole lot. The recent minimum phase of the sun can be contrasted with the increased activity in say, the 1950s (and yet avg global surface temp is higher today than the 1950s). I realize you are dying to use the talking point of "bbb.b.b the climate/weather changes in cycles", but I'm more interested in the actual science, put out by the actual atmospheric physicists, geophysicists etc. Just my preference.
