Walter reed is a military hospital and the docs are probably majors/colonels, as well as docs. As docs they have certain legal obligations, but as officers they have obligations to their commander in chief as well.

I have no idea what the legal situation is, whether military rules trump (pun intended) civilian or not.

The real funny part here is that everybody who has been screaming follow the science, listen to the doctors not the politicians,nowwant to ignore the doctors, as they might have an agenda.
