To be fair, I think one of the reasons Trump got destroyed by the popular vote and didn't win more states was because he ran a crap campaign and kept saying stupid crap. When he became disciplined at the end of the campaign he made a comeback.

Populism isn't right wing, but it's certainly not failing. The U.S. is ahead of other countries for a reason. Le Pen did amazing for a first run (her father had 12% of the vote), Wilders picked up seats and increased the party's influence. They'll probably catch up eventually, in the meantime, they'll suffer.

It happened but not as you describe. It wasn't "more democratic votes than citizens". The problem was discrepancies between the number of votes cast, and the number of voters entering the polls as recorded by poll workers. Some precincts had as many as 5 ballots moreor less than voters. That prevented a recount of those precincts, but it does not appear that the discrepancies tipped the vote one way or another.

Since you will most certainly dismiss any source I may provide as "fake" because you don't agree with their conclusions, you can find your own sources, or not.

I can't remember the guys name, but he was on Fox News (fake news?) saying the only way a GOP candidate is going to win the popular vote in the near future is to dump $100M in California. You won't win the state, but the idea is to devote lots of resources to getting out the RED portions of the state to make the end result more respectable. As long as you keep it respectable in California, you've got a shot.
