Also we did get to the moon.

On an episode of Dr. Who the moon is an egg for a giant space dragon.
but on that episode people had an outpost and scientific station on the moon so opie will reject this also.

"Computers" back then were Dozens of math genius's doing calculations by hand. Correct me if I am wrong, but I do not believe trajectory equations have changed in that time frame.

And that thing didn't go back to the moon and back... Op doesn't believe in science though so who would expect him to research it.

As an aircraft mechanic I can never really understand why people don't believe we landed on the moon. It's kind of like how we would joke about filling up the Chemical trail canisters in the wings.

People don't realize how technologically advanced we were in 1969. We had Boss 429 Mustangs, 426 Hemi Daytona Chargers, all aluminum 427 Corvettes and the fastest one of them all, the SR-71 Blackbird.

Which still holds all manner of records to this day. There's always gonna be a % of people that are just morons like the OP et al, and no amount of easily verifiable facts/science will convince them otherwise. The 'net has just magnified that effect sadly is such morons now have the ability to communicate with other morons and grow more. Hopefully that's being counter balanced by easy access to solid science info and such by the rest. If not, we're doomed to repeat a dark ages and such.

True enough, but that those records stand this day speaks volumes about that plane. And, nothing built to this day that's even a fraction as cool looking

So is your argument that because people have destroyed such technology that the technology never existed in the first place? People do stupid things all the time.

I agree it makes no sense. But then we have destroyed the technology and know-how to make a lot of historical machines and equipment. It's what we humans seem to do.

The time it took to type that you could have googled it answered it for yourself. Per usual, the plebs don't understand what they read, and narrow it down to simplistic derpa derp like we "destroyed" the technology, which of course is not true. The truth, it's been so long and tech changed so much, we'd be essentially starting from zero at this point, and some scientists ask if it's really worth the cost and time to develop the tech at this point to return:

maybe he's just talkin about the funding going from apollo to skylab.

"we destroyed that technology" = we decommissioned the infrastructure needed to make a lunar lander in the early 70's and it took like a decade to get people hyped about putting a guy on the moon and to reinvigorate interest and public funding is a difficult process.

or maybe he's talkin bout tossin some scientists into the everglades mafia style I DONT KNOW IM FORCED TO REMAIN CHARITABLY OPEN MINDED
