I like this approach.

I also think it's important for kids to understand the bible, it's moral system and be able to make use of some allegories from it. So much of the modern western world is predicated on a Christian world view. IMO the modern atheist gives Christianity too much power/credence by being afraid of it.

I also think that the community that comes from church is valuable and atheism doesn't have a corresponding equivalent.

I think you're responding to me with a post someone else made, but anyway duh. Of course I was taught that. We were all taught things. And it's more than what I was taught, I generally feel bad if I'm an ass to someone because I have emotions just like anyone else.

Now sure, there are things I don't do because of jail or getting a ticket, like going 90 on the highway. That's the same for everyone. Everyone knows underage drinking is bad, but how many 18 year olds do it anyway? Are they bad people now?

I would dispute that the holocaust was religiously motivated. If anything, it was anti-religious and atheistic in nature. Nationalism and racism seemed to be the big factors.

Again, even if counting the holocaust, add all them up, and you still get the death toll way higher than that of atheistic regimes. The numbers given only included 1 type of state atheism for only 3 regimes. Socialism and Marxist-Leninism have their own body counts as well.

I don't want to belabor the point, because you can look this up for yourself if you are truly interested in it.

As long as we agree that both religious and non-religious people commit heinous acts against humanity, which they undisputedly do, then trying to point out which "side" has been worse over history is nothing more than an exercise in saying "I'm a better person because I'm religious" or "I'm a better person because I'm atheist" . It serves no purpose other than patting yourself on the back for the choice you have made.

My bad if it didn't apply to you I was skimming. Just my point was I wether live in a religious society than a secular one due to the implementing of a moral system. Which when I was a atheist I lacked. Feel like evil would creep into a secular society easier. Also there should be no drinking minimum age. No speed limit either just a fast and slow lane.

I believe what the bible says who God is and the bible says God is every thing and everyone, so lack of believing in God makes me think you lack the belief in your self and to attract your desires of this world

There is no punishing evil in society though, only law. You can be an azzzhole all day long, but punch someone in the face and that's an assault charge. The culture would dictate how nice everyone is to one another, and religion =/= nice. Now the way we practice Christianity currently is nice, but it was not always so benevolent. Did the Bible change? No. Society did.

"According to Llorente, over the course of its history, the Inquisition processed a total of 341,021 people, of whom at least ten percent (31,912) were executed. He wrote, "To calculate the number of victims of the Inquisition is the same as demonstrating, in practice, one of the most powerful and effective causes of the depopulation of Spain."[34]The principal modern historian of the Inquisition was an American from Philadelphia, from a Quaker family, Henry Charles Lea (1825 - 1909), author of History of the Inquisition of Spain, Vol 1. (1888) considered that these totals, not based on rigorous statistics, were very exaggerated."

"It is likely that the total would be between 3,000 and 5,000 executed. "

You have every excuse available as to why Christians are morally superior to nontheists, and you certainly aren't afraid to use them. A simple question about atheists having Children and you point to Hitler, Stalin and Mao?

Let me ask you a simple question (though I know what the answer is different to depending on what context is being used). Is the USA a country founded on Christian principles and by and large a Christian nation with by and large Christian leaders?

If you guys have Netflix watch the movie called "the secret" it's non religious but it dives into the law of attraction which I believe religions should be preaching, but for some reason most do not
