Some of you think a trade war is good. But we will see how the Evey day American feels about it once this thing really gets rolling. Maybe you're right, but this you play the game. We will know for sure which way the country sways on this.

Brah dont worry about it. $570 tax is nothing for individual tax payers. The economy is so hot, we cant even absorb all the jobs which is why wages are ramping up to offset teh $570 tax.

Seriously...you gonna feel a $570 tax when your wages went up .005%? lulz.

$45k for a no skill job is serious.

Can you post your job advertisement on here? I know some misc boyos are looking for jobs. There are alot of hard working blue collar conservatives on this forum working min wage that would love to make $45k/yr for a min wage job that requires very little skils.

How cute do you think you are with the snarky comments? Both of us know some things you HAVE to buy that are manufactured out of the USA.

Business taxes and regulations were cut in an attempt to level the playing field. Still doesn't make us even when other countries essentially have indentured servitude but it's better. And this is also why we're trying to make things right with tariffs.

But you know this and are being the definition of a smug liberal.

Manufacturing jobs are at a 10 year high

“Well, how exactly are you going to do that? What exactly are you going to do? There’s no answer to it," Obama said.
"He just says, 'Well, I’m going to negotiate a better deal.' Well, what, how exactly are you going to negotiate that? What magic wand do you have? And usually the answer is, he doesn’t have an answer.”

Just above minn yes

The law of supply and demand is with labor as well as any other cost

There was a very high labor supply with a lower labor demand

That coupled with our company pivoting our strategy regardless to beating our competition significantly with wages at equivalent jobs as compared to staying right at or below like we did for years

Thats weird. I have been part owner of a engineering company and I have always paid well above minimum wage to american workers for moderately skilled jobs. Im trying to figure out why a fellow american business owner would screw over their fellow americans by paying them the same wage as a McDonalds worker....for a moderately skilled position.

So your FTE costs (not counting benefits) went from ~$15k to $45k in <3yrs? that is a 300% increase in labor costs. Not even touching FUTA (6%), SUI, etc. So lets say $55k for overhead purposes...zero benefits...370% increase for moderate skilled FTE's. WE all know the lowest level FTE has an inflationary effect on higher level FTE's...we can delve into that later. What were your margins 3yrs ago?

Brah I just don’t trust you enough to go into that kind of detail

I will say 2015-2016 was the most significant spike in our companies long history as far as labor cost goes it was a complete strategy pivot

I keep seeing it reported by MSM that Trump impossing tariffs will only hurt the American people.

So if this is true... why are other countries retaliating and imposing new tariffs of their own?

By imposing those new tariffs on America, aren't they hurting their own people?

They hurt the Chinese. The Chinese retaliate by hurting Americans. That’s how they get hurt.

In short, the RoW can bring a lot more pain to the streets of America than the reverse so the net hurt is bad.

lol...that kind of detail?! This is the most generic information ever.

So your largest FTE overhead increased 2015-2016...and not 2017-2018? That makes no sense. The economy was crap back then. Plus you said 3 yrs ago you were paying $15k for the lowest skilled FTE employed. Yet today you are unable to fulfill same positions for $45k.

You started offering $45k for moderately skilled positions with no secondary education back in 2015...and there has been zero inflationary impact on those FTE positions since then?

Sorry brah...doesnt add up.

If there isn't any domestic economic advantage to tariffs, why are other countries retaliating? Why not just let Trump hurt his own country?

So if Chinese tariffs hurt Americans, why are people objecting to Trump addressing the tariffs placed on American manufacturers prior to his election?

Again... serious question.

Seems from an outsiders perspective that the argument is something like this: "We lost the trade war to China in the 1990s. Let's just accept defeat and bow our heads in shame for our new Chinese overlords."

Scary thing is how much of your debt they own. They hold massive leverage over the US because you guys are so deep in debt.
