How the heck are the Dems even going to argue against it? BRB bring in every freaking border expert to say we need a wall. BRB bring in every statistic that says how much it costs the taxpayer. BRB bring in ICE. lol, are Dems even for the country anymore?

This. He didn't give the DACA, and will use the emergency to fund the wall. But apparently its the end of the US. lol

The most important thing right now is to get a physical barrier up. If R's need to concede things to get that done, I'll accept that fact. That barrier wall will stop a tremendous amount of illegals.

Look forward to the excuses in a few years when the change in the effects of illegal immigration due to more border fencing turns out to be statistically insignificant. It sure feels good though.

The idea that the wall is just step one of a sequential plan to immigration reform is a fukking joke.

One of the major incentives for coming here, the lack of any punishment for breaking laws is now gone.

The states would handover illegals to be deported, No big deal, they just come back anyway.

Now they have to serve a sentence for whatever crime they commit because they will no longer be deported.

Id rather have an illegal's freedoms taken away like any other criminal than for them to be deported and come back a week later.

The Dems & RINOs dont need to be taken seriously. All they're doing is transitioning the country into something so terrible I doubt anybody has an idea what will become of it.

Cant even get people to agree on what a wall with security personnel can actually do let alone national issues with immigrants from SA, Africa and the ME being bussed and flown in by the thousands every month. An object cannot stop a country's people and its leaders committing national suicide if they just go around it.
We were already going to be screwed in 2024 though.

Neither party will let an outsider do this again. They lost control of the Presidency. That's what this entire Mueller special investigation is about. They'll bankrupt anyone associated with Trump to send a message to people in the future not to support a non-establishment candidate.

Tough to say. I thought Perot was the last outsider who would even get a sniff at the presidency, and yet Trump actually won.

The real danger is the censorship on the internet. Before the Web, there were just the 3 big networks giving us news, along with the big newspapers. Right now, the internet and social media is turning fully Leftist.

Its my understanding that the 55 miles included in this bill is the sole discretion of mayors, etc of the counties it runs thru, meaning don't count on it.

I have no idea?

As I stated in a previous post, those who wrote/passed this bill are all against Trump declaring an emergency and assumed he probably would do so anyways to save face. So, it would make sense they put language in there specifically meant for the SC, knowing it would make its way there in order to neuter him even further.

It is too early to panic and declare the country dead.

The bill is terrible but it is temporary and a win politically. Pelosi said Trump would not get $1 for the wall. He in fact got $1.3 billion for the wall plus he is going after several other billion with the emergency declaration.

The country will not be won or lost with a single bill. These are all small battles in a larger war.

How is it a win politically? He gets 1.3 Bil for a wall he'll never be authorized to put up in the first place

Yes, but the funds Trump gets from declaring a national emergency is a different pool than this congressional budget bill. They were only offering 1.6 bill anyway, while he's getting 8 billion with the emergency.

Simple put, Congress(including the GOP) had no intention of funding the wall. So this was the best option. I view Trump as an Independent president with no real party backing at this point.

The federal reach of the government doesn't work that way at all.

100%

If we want a real 3rd party, Trump might be the best option for a 2020 run under a new banner. Might be political suicide though....

The real danger is changing demographics. Texas is going blue in the not so distant future. Everything else is a symptom of that underlying disease.

You think people are going to give up their 2nd amendment rights willingly? Some people might welcome the revolution that would ensue.
