I think he means that most of the oil from Russia is going through Germany....

You guys are getting all worked up over numbers but Trump's point is to expose the hypocrisy over the whole deal of what's going on. The whole point of NATO is supposed to be to protect Europe from Russia but instead Europe is dependent on Russia.

Just this morning he showed a lack of knowledge of how NATO works. He wondered if NATO countries would reimburse the US for not meeting their 2% GDP commitment to NATO when no such reimbursements are part of the program. He also foolishly claimed some countries are delinquent in payments to NATO when no such payments are part of the NATO program. He is unbelievably uninformed on the world around him.

This is going to be one of the greater points in the history of European American foreign-policy.

Long overdue and sooooo much needed.

Well...they have to spend 2% of their GDP on THEIR OWN military, which is a NATO agreement...so he is sort of right. The delinquent payments are also related to what they must spend on their own military, which again is a NATO agreement, but its not money that goes to NATO itself.

In my opinion, like everything else with him, the general intent and message is appropriate (whether or not you agree with his tone) - they are not holding up their end of the bargain on military spending - but the facts and details are woefully wrong and foolish.

Our president verbally attacking our allies and making himself look wholly uneducated while doing so is a great point in history? We clearly differ on this for I think Trump is just reinforcing to the world how much of an ignorant fool he is.

I agree with him that other countries should be meeting their spending commitments. I just wish he didn’t come across as a 9th grader when trying to make his point. He would get more respect and cooperation from the rest of the world if he acted like a knowledgeable adult IMO.

To make an omelet you have to crack a few eggs, breh. It's nice for once to have a president with balls and the willingness to wield American influence instead of apologizing for it.

That is his presidency in a nutshell. I voted libertarian, I despise the Clintons, but I couldn't vote for Trump because of that. I agree with his instincts and 30,000-foot view of the situation (pun intended) on most issues but his persona and 7-year old temperament drive me crazy. Well, sometimes I enjoy seeing the uproar in Washington he causes (as the Joker says in the OG Batman, "This town needs an enema!")...but it irks me with foreign diplomacy for sure.

That being said at this point I am going to vote for him in 2020 if he maintains his level of crazy and the left continues to move their crazy further into the land of rabid lunacy.

When are Germans going to realize that the only thing they're good at is manufacturing high quality products?

They're clearly useless and not to be taken seriously on any political front... Especially with that walrus chancellor they have.

They just need a revitalization of German spirit and national identity. Must suck living your entire life while the state constantly pounds into you how guilty you should feel about the Holocaust, and that third-world people wouldn't be suffering were it not for the evil white man - and to that end that Germany does not belong to the German people, but rather to the poor, the sick and the desperate.

There is a fiercely intelligent beast hiding deep down within every German. It'll just require a lot of excavation to bring it to the surface.

Sure I have. But, unlike Trump, I use actual, real, verifiable facts when making my arguments. Unlike Trump I try not to make things up. This way friends take me seriously and don’t consider me a lunatic.

I agree. I LOVE that a US pres finally has the balls to put his foot down and stay firm. Calling out european hipocrasy should have been done LONG ago and Im glad to see that we have a guy that's staright up telling it how it is. All the people in this thread whining"but his numbers are wrong it
s not 70%" are idiots, the number isnt important its the BLANTANT hiposcrisy and the FACT that the strongest EU member is at least partially DEPENDENT on Russia for energy needs, while also condemneing them as the devil of modern day.

Trump's style is working, I used to and still cant stand the way he talks, but Ill be damned if he istn GETTING CHIT DONE. Im full on board with trump at this point and want to see him win a second term, for the good of my country.
