What i'm trying to say here is that if the MSM covered Trump in an unbiased manner, i'm 100% sure your opinion of him would be radically different. You may notlikehim (since you sound like you are on the left side of the aisle) but you probably would hate him
Did you ever listen to Limbaugh during the Obama years?
Or watch Fox?

Hell-did you read the papers during the Bush years?

Lol. By looks of it, seems like "the media" just got born 3.5 years ago.

The thread is about censoring/silencing opposing political views though. Did you miss the point completely?

If you are threatening violence and spreading hate speech you should be banned. This is also something twitter turns a blind eye to when it comes users threatening conservatives.

It seems like you might not be aware of how bad this problem is.

Taken at face value, I've never seen a president throw such a long and continuous bitch fit than Trump. Bush had dignity, the shrub was constantly made fun of. Same with fukkin Obama, you had conspiracy theories made mainstream there. But Trump-oh God no don't touch Trump.

Meanwhile, supposedly there's deep state and conniving liberals holding his balls so he can't do anything of value. Nice built in excuse...

Censoring conservative views is a huge problem for online free speech right now and sites like reddit, youtube, google and twitter are all guilty of this suppression.

BUT what about fox news?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!

Fox is a part of the biased MSM. CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC...They are all doing what Fox did to Obama except far worse. But as it turned out, Fox at least was right about some things in the end since the Obama white house leaked directly to CNN. Hell, ABC sat on Epstein for 2 years. NBC sat on Epstein because they wanted to influence the election by not tarnishing Hillary's image. CNN threatened to Doxx and a 16 year old for a meme and they got sued by Nick Sandmann. Fox may be #1 for something like 10 years in a row but they are just as biased. They. Are. All. Chit. And people todaySTILLgo to them for their info and base their opinions off what they hear from them.

This is why arguing with them is a waste of time, they will have no response to this, it's just them projecting their self hatred onto the world

The beauty of free speech is that if it is misinformation it can easily be explained why it is wrong. Users can form their own opinions.

The problem is twitter is applying misinformation labels for views they disagree as an excuse to silence opposing opinions.

I would think once an entity reaches a certain size (or amount of influence) those "free speech" rules go right out the window.

And rightfully so.

If you believe in absolute free speech go yell out "BOMB!!!!" on a train and see how that one works out.

My point was that this has been going on literally since the printing press was invented. Maybe it wasn't your intention, but in the post I replied to it sounded like you just came to the conclusion that *gasp* the media has bias lol. None of the prior administrations were as paranoid and hyper aware of media as Trump, maybe Nixon.

I did a small research paper on pandemics for an English class last month. Combing through old newspaper clippings and it's amazing. Everything we are discussing now is EXACTLY what was discussed 100 years ago. Masks, economy, church, etc. Everything. For the same reasons. Using the same rhetoric. The same skepticism. The same worries. Everything. Nothing has changed. If I could copy/paste some of what I found and you'd have a hard time discerning which pandemic the articles were based off.

Trump has centered the narrative around himself. He's a narcissist. People don't realize it because they're too close to the forest. Step back tho and it's utterly ridiculous and obvious.

So you're saying Twitter doesn't have the right to free speech on its own platform?

Applying "misinformation labels" is explaining the misinformation. Why is this wrong?

Again, like AngryBaby says-they didn't take down his post. They didn't even call it bullchit. They just told people to read about whatever he's blithering about.

technically they only said "check the facts on mail-in ballots", which could have very well coincided with Trumps tweet...if he were using facts.

so there is no indication based from that alone whether they agreed or disagreed with his statements. Even if they did disagree secretly, they were smart enough to know that they dont have to say anything, they can just insert get the facts on mail-in ballots for more information!" and those facts, would likely play into their favor.

this argument just doesn't stand

I would argue the narrative has been turned to himself because, as you mentioned, the media is biased and has been going out of their way to attack him. To then call him a narcissist for defending himself against the attacks is a little intellectually dishonest, or maybe not a fair representation of the situation.

Definitely couldn't be the opposite could it? Can't possibly be the media with the obsession who are making him the centre of the narrative, right?

must be Trump
