Lol you’re such a cuck. You think to little of America and to much of China and the failing EU. America doesn’t need China but China definitely needs America for its economy to grow.

Wrong. purchasing power parity exchange rate tells us how much money you need in China to be as well off as you are in the US. It is a measure of how big China’s GDP would be if costs of living were the same as the US. They arent. It's an attempt to standardize prices. Chinas consumer market is 3x smaller than americas. Its domestic economy, some 80% smaller.

"Standardise." Price valuations differ and vary from nation to nation. Again PPP exchange rate tells us very little. We have consumer market metrics which is buying g and spending power. Chinas consumer market is $4+trillion. The united states is $13+ trillion.

Globalization hollowed out americas workforce. What happened was wealth transfer and deindustrialization that benefitted china. Look and see how after china joined the WTO in 2001, how the trade deficit exploded. We went from a $50 billion dollar trade deficit then, to a $500 billion trade deficit with them today. They steal $400 billion in intellectual property ontop of that. Tariff the ever loving sh!t outta them!

Also, this isn't just harming China. The story goes like this:

1. Trump imposes tariffs on $34B worth of product (in addition to previous aluminium/steel tariffs)
2. China responds by like for like tariffs on the US of $34B
3. Trump prepares tariffs on $200B against China
4. China drawing up equal punitive measures on U.S. products
5. Trump threatens to impose tariffs on $500B
6. China says go ahead and try, we are very disappointed in you

Now picture Trump has also gone to war with Canada, Mexico and the European Union. There's no way the U.S. can handle a trade war with the two biggest economies in the world (China, EU) and also all these other countries.
Here's the problem, China will run out of things to put tariffs on before the US does, because there's a huge trade deficit with China. Do you not understand that the US is buying significantly more than its selling, and that the things it sells are tariffed?

Trump isn't starting a trade war, he's fighting back.

Lifting the embargo initially was what let China explode. A full embargo would definitely shake things up for a while but we would recover as supply lines are redeveloped.

Supply lines with whom though? He's put punitive tariffs on Canada and Mexico, the entirety of Europe, South Korea, Japan, India and picked the biggest fight with China.

The only developed country he's left out has been.. Russia. Hmm, I wonder why?

Otherwise that's the Top 10 economies of the world right there. Trust me, history willnotbe kind to Trump over this. He's going to be vilified when he's off that chair for running the U.S. like The Apprentice.

It's so odd that Trump is doing what he campaigned on. Doesn't he know that politicians never follow through on campaign promises?

You need to go back to primary school English class if you don't know what "we'll find out, won't we" means.

I'm not, and I could be in the future, but really who would want to be a U.S. citizen right now?

Of course I don't get a say, I don't participate in your elections. I can say and debate as I please though and there's nothing you can do about it.

Lol, my partner is American. I've been there roughly fifty times for varying lengths of time and visited 30 states including the chithole states like Wyoming. That's probably more than even the average native.

I'm obsessed with the U.S. and Trump because U.S. politics is the only interesting politics apart from UK/EU and the most influential. I also like 50s-90s era old school U.S when being American and Made in the USA meant something.

You're dreaming if you think 99% of middle-upper class people from any country don't discuss U.S. politics because they know it's pretty much the only politics that matters.

Honestly, the only people who seem to have any kind of American mannerisms left seem to be non-racially inclined Southern folk. The large metropolitan areas, especially on the East Coast have turned into chitholes.

For those that don't fully understand, China steals so much of our Intellectual Property, it only makes sense to start taxing them. Think about it, they basically steal from US companies, recreate the products, and sell them back to us cheaper, screwing over US companies who need to hit certain margins with their ORIGINAL, quality products.

This is going to hurt us in the short run, but long term, it's a solid move.

They started that way in the 1980s. Eventually, they became better at it since many companies off-shored operations. I only need to give the example of precision machining. Apple makes iPhones there for a reason. The designs are so intricate that the only place in the world that can do it and be economically feasible is China.

Would a blue collar American worker be willing to slave away in a Foxconn factory for $3 an hour? No.

Apple is so meticulous, that China is unable to compete with their product, besides making chit iPhone look-alikes that don't come close. Chinese people don't know the difference though. Go on their website YouKu (their version of our YouTube) and see how chit it is compared to YouTube. America is the best in the world when it comes to innovation. We will be the first to release AI and the first to come out with Web 3.0 technology. Others will follow and will be taxed heavily for it when trying to sell back to the American people.

Their web presence is stifled by the government. Even then, look at Alibaba, Baidu, RenRen etc. I'm talking about manufacturing. China (now) excels at doing precision work for cheap but that decades old "made in china" stigma will never go away.

Btw, Huawei's phones are pretty sweet and they're the largest telecommunications manufacturer in the world.
