It's changed during my lifetime. The sea is more rough and riptides are worse. The water is higher. High tide is a lot worse.
I would call that an environment change. Can't personally say due to climate change but there's seemingly more water.
As far as negative impact, yeah almost...daughter was in a riptide but I got her though. Thankfully we both had boogie boards and I can swim well.
That could have and has happened to people for a real long time, though.

OP you will have a very hard time changing the minds of people who are themselves convinced that climate change is not real. Possibly decades of misinformation spread by the oil industry has anchored itself too deep in their minds.
The fact is that the scientific consensus on climate change is there. Doing your own research on the matter is possible, however the sad reality is that 80% of the human population does not have the intelligence to do so. Including 80% of this board. That is because only 20% of the general population is smart enough to go to a research university (a statistical fact). Evidence on climate change pours in from many different scientific disciplines, and can sometimes be hard to tie together.
Something that does not help as well is the time scale at which these changes take place. The human mind is utterly garbage in imagining huge time scales. Our entire modern history is only 10,000 years old. Most do not know of any before the arbitrary year 0 (2000 years ago). Most people think in years, decades, or generations. Which is peanuts for the physical world we live in. The consequences of climate change will not effect us so much, but it will effect the generations that come after us. I am talking about 100-200-300 years. Most people alive today will all be dead before the year 2100.

friend: blah blah blah blah trump and right wingers dont care about climate change, it's IMPORTANT?
Me: What solutions would you propose, America already does more of it's fair share and can't control other countries
friend: idk we should do more and help other places do more
me: Giving money to other countries won't stop them from polluting
friend: we have to do something or we will destroy the planet!

The dude was rightfully called out for calling himself a "scientist", with a master's degree (and likely little to no published research). "Scientist" is generally PhD level involved in research- there are rare exceptions, but whatever the case climate science is a different field.....
Lol at you not understanding any of this though. I don't expect you to, considering it's the misc.
Edit: with that said, I'll listen to the myriad of trained PhD researchers actually in the field, and read the research they are putting out, over the randoms on the misc who love to litter these climate threads with their hot takes and theories (yes, even ones with degrees in environmental management lol). So I'm outta this thread, have at it.

Given the trajectory of our world, I really bloody don't care, and that'sbeforegetting into absurd arguments over how man-made climate change has somehow imperiled the planet to be on the brink of the apocalypse within twelve years.
I mean, youdo realizethat the earth was hit by a f*cking asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs, and lifestill found a way, right?
But everyone not immediately abandoning their current automobiles running on fossil fuels in favor of overcharged, surprisingly combustible electrics that lack remotely adequate infrastructure to recharge in even the most environmentally progressive countries will doom our planet in less than two decades? Why? Because some socialist tart said so on her ********?
To be clear, I am not denying the existence of climate change, but rather the existence of common sense, foresight, or the necessary grounding in realism amongst the fear-mongers to prevent them from floating into Fantasia.
What hasnotbeen explained is how reallocating money from private citizens to "people who know better" is going to result in any net positive for the planet.
Or how will we make the absurd energy transitions without nuclear or the required time to rework our nation's energy gridbeforethis looming, prophesied doomsday.
Or how in the ninth plane of hell we will also manage to rework the kinks and flaws that to this day pervade alternative energy implementation.
Or how many pay cuts people campaigning on the delusion that our planet is ready to light up like a match at any given moment will take alongside the massive tax hikes they wish to impose on everyday Americans in some act of solidarity (have we yet to see AOC take a pay cut or donate even a fraction her 200k salary to... anything she claims to stand for)?
Or how, oh I love this one, everyone too busy playing Chicken Little on their $1000 smartphones made in a Chinese sweatshop is actually bothering to change their extravagant lifestyles to better the earth that they claim is in such dire straits? Because I have a feeling that prying them away from Twitter and Snapchat will be almost more challenging than even some of the most unrealistic demands.
Or what actualmetricare people going by that the planet is poised to collapse based strictly upon human interference without regard to the natural shifts in global temperature?
Or most of all, how the greatest threat to the planet is the unstopping, exponential population growth? The most damage done to the environment and planet as a whole is when everyone feels entitled to pop out another second, third, fourth, fifth, andmorechild regardless of how ill equipped they are to actuallyraisetheir own offspring.
Here's a far more alarming news flash: Natural Selection is effectively out of commission when it comes to the human race, so even the planet's stupidest people are reproducing at a faster rate than our increasing life expectancies allow. Every new, additional human creates a rapidly spreading array of needs and demands that will negatively impact the earth no matter what is done, including the most impractical and infeasible proposals being spouted by climate change advocates.
Meanwhile, those Paris Climate wankers are the same ones applauding China and India, some of the nastiest polluters on the goddamned planet, for merelypromising- making swearsies - that they will change.

The reason at this point its not likely at all due to natural change, is simply the rate of change is way to rapid to be natural occurrence. C02 is highly correlated with average temperature, the science being its a greenhouse gas that traps more heat and thus raise the average temperature in the atmosphere. The same theory could be used for any planet like if we wanted to colonise mars for instance. If anyone with the internet bothered to look all the facts are there and unless you think somehow the whole thing is a conspiracy by liberals (at which point your a lost cause honestly).
Also we should be reentering a new ice age in the next 10,000 years, we are in a warming period not a cooling period. Source.https://www.johnenglander.net/wp/wp-...T-SL%20rev.jpg

The dude was rightfully called out for calling himself a "scientist", with a master's degree (and likely little to no published research). "Scientist" is generally PhD level involved in research- there are rare exceptions, but whatever the case climate science is a different field.....

So this guys credentials don't count? What are YOURS? None whatsoever?

You know I've been thinking about this whole thing and I'm reevaluating my earlier position.
In order to save ourselves from imminent catastrophe! we need to deactivate our economy, shut down all business - just make any and all formal business illegal, totally stop using all petroleum products - make it illegal to possess, make cars/planes/trains illegal, start living like middle age aboriginees in straw huts, and welcome our new Chinese communist overlords.

in be4 new little ice age starts and we need to start pumping out more CO2 to try and offset it.

One day the sun won't work right anymore. And that will be a really bad day for Earth.
In my personal opinion, we should devote resources to a better battery.
That will help on Earth, and in space where we must go to survive.

So why not revolutionize the clean energy sector WITHOUT destroying coal? The left always seems stuck on the idea of "this OR that".
