End of business on a friday is when you release stuff that you want to walk away from (no further indictments), as a typical news cycle is over by monday morning. If there had been further indictments he would have done the full court press.

This is a guy who indicted a Russian company, that didn't even exist, at the time of the offense alleged in the indictment. If he could indict a company that didn't exist and yet couldn't find a single person in the Trump orbit to indict for anything related to "collusion", I don't blame him for filling it at end of business friday.

I should do a full recap of what this "innocent" man did the last two years on a full timeline.

But just off the top of my head as a highlight, let's remember that Trump fired Comey and invited all the Russians in Washington into the Oval office along with the Russian press, shut the door on our press, and declared the Russia investigation was dead. He then smiled ear to ear, shook hands, and took pics, which we as Americans only got to see after the Russian press released them.
