Holy. ****ing. ****. That finale. That's probably the single best piece of television I've seen.

What an amazing cliff hanger to boot.

Man on Fire: The TV Show

Damn good cinema.
That spoiler reminds me. There was a strange tv show in the 90s called either Vengeance Incorporated or Vengeance Unlimited. Michael Madsen played a guy who read would show up to help an aggrieved stranger he'd heard/read about get revenge. In each episode, Madsen would call in favors from people he'd previously helped. And most episodes, the bad guy and Madsen would be left alone at one point, and the bad guy would always ask "Why are you doing this" and Madsen would have some dry reply like "My cable went out."

Funny how the difference between your expectations and actual situation is what causes so much misery. If you said to someone, hey, how would you like to be rich, famous and in good health, downside, you can't be a world class golfer, then most people would say that sounds like a dream come true. But for Tiger Woods, seems it's a living hell.

Why does the concept of 'desire' always have such negative connotations?

Agreed. Perhaps they want to normalize their lives as much as possible, appear to be one of us "in spirit", while ironically doing things that will make them infamous.

Because desire is the root cause of unhappiness. If you don't care what happens each day (non-attachment), then there is nothing to be unhappy about. Have no preference, be happy.

This place is pretty much just an alt-right echo chamber these days. Most of the disagreements are whether you love everything about Trump, or just the fact that the left despises him or you don't like him at all because you are a neocon/full blown Nazi.

Really cool Ramadan initiative in the UAE. They (gov) put up fridges all over town, and pinned the locations on Google Maps. You can just drop food in the fridge and it gets picked up once a day to feed the needy. I hope this stays live all year round

It's a hot night. The mind races. You think about your knife: the only friend who hasn't betrayed you, the only friend who won't be dead by sunup. Sleep tight mates, in your quilted chambray night shirts.

I woke up on Tuesday with what I thought was a big blind pimple just below my nose/above my lip (I usually get a few decent pimples after detoxing from a hard weekend). Anyway it's three times as big now, hard as a rock and extruciating. Left side of my face is all swollen, I look like a neanderthal

Going to the doctors tomorrow. Hopefully it's just an abscess and not a ****ing tumor
