The funny thing is that an isolated, cultural island will generally fare far worse than a diverse one composed of various cultures that integrated together. However, that latter scenario is far less likely when the immigrants in question have little to no vested interest in assimilating into another country, but rather, merely seeking work. And really, that's always been the deal with immigration in general: either accept the new nation, its customs, and yes, language through successful integration and participation, or apply for a sodding Visa. There has to be give and take, as all nations are built upon their citizens who are willing to be a part of a society rather than only leech from it through their opportunistic, fleeting desires - not the equivalent to temp workers (and nomadic vagrants if they can't even find work in the first place).

What isnota melting pot is someone deciding to secretly dump a ton of frozen meat and veg into the mix - the temperature is off because they couldn't bother to thaw them out, everything is off temperature, and now you've just ruined the stew for everyone, hope you're proud.
