But the only way he will lose support overall on this is if Dems go full hypocrite and oppose it just because Trump did it. This is one of those issues where Trump is turning the political alliances on their head. It wasn't too long ago that Dems were pro-tariff protectionists and the GOP was free trade capitalists, too.

Imagine being so detached from things that you haven't figured out that Trump is a new republican and the fact that the old neocons and old guard republicans hate him is just confirmation that he was the guy to vote for.
