What I'm getting at is that the people are guaranteed the right to defend themselves against a government who would turn against them. This comes with the obvious benefit of also being able to protect the home, but that's not its most important function.

Can we even quantify that? They are pulled over at disproportionate rates. They also commit a disproportionate amount of violent crime.

I'm being sincere in my questions. I would like to see the evidence that shows black Americans are pulled over at a disproportionate ratejustbecause they are black and not because they committed a traffic violation of some sort.

Weren't there four or five other people in custody that were reportedly being uncooperative? I haven't seen anything in regards to that. Measly reps for some info in case I missed something obvious.

Lynn Mays was at the scene when the shooting started. He said an officer saved his life.

Thanks. I just thought it was weird that it hasn't been brought up. There is a good chance they didn't know anything and the cops were thinking that they were lying about it.

who commits more crimes, statistically? different races do not commit crimes at equal rates. why would they be stopped at equal rates?

The day after the shooting, searches were conducted on Johnson's family home.[31] Bomb-making materials, ballistic vests, rifles, and ammunition were recovered from the home by detectives.[17]

Micah Xavier Johnson (c. 1991 July 8, 2016) was a resident of Mesquite, Texas.[4][12] He had served in the U.S. Army Reserve from March 2009 to April 2015, serving as a carpentry and masonry specialist.[18] Johnson held the rank of private first class and was deployed to Afghanistan from November 2013 to July 2014[19][20] with the 420th Engineer Brigade.[21] Johnson received the Army Achievement Medal and a NATO Medal for his tour of duty in Afghanistan.[21] He had no criminal record in Texas.[4]

Officials initially said two or more snipers carried out the shooting, but later said that Johnson appears to have been the lone gunman. Three other people were taken into custody by police, "but officials have not said what roles they may have played."[23][32] These three included two persons seen carrying camouflage bags and leaving the shooting scene on Lamar Street, who were both stopped and detained after a six-mile high-speed chase.

Just read the shooters dad left his moms for a white woman and he lived with his mom.

No wonder he blames white people for all his problems. His mom probably bitched about his dads white whore 24/7!

Did you just compare Canada to the U.S.?
-Canada requires you to have a job before immigrating
-Canada requires a certain amount of wealth before immigrating
-Canada doesn't even have 1/2 the U.S. population
-Canada has as many large cities as California
-Canada has a vast wealth of resources for a minuscule population

Meanwhile the U.S. is busing illegal immigrant over the SouthWest border, and dropping them all across the country.
-No health checks
-No background checks
-No financial checks

The U.S. simply doesn't have the resources to support this.

Any brahs seen the video on streamable.com taken at ground level across from where the cop that gets in the 1 on 1 with the shooter, as that shootout is taking place? It's not very graphic (hard to see those two exchange fire) but there is someone that looks to be in uniform walking down the street right across from the shootout, as it's happening, while acting as if nothing is going on. Wayyyy too nonchalant when there's a gunfight going on directly next to them, really damn weird. Don't have any explanation for it. (May be able to add /tbs4 to the end of the URL to find it)

Bad times we live in, sad times really. This thread is long at this point so I'm sure most of this has been touched on but I'm going to join in and give my thoughts:

The main issue at hand is racism. Black people in general are very racist. Leftists have pigeonholed them into playing the role of the victim and they've fully accepted that role and mindset. They're always the victim. They're always being targeted. They're always being discriminated against. If you pay attention to black people you will see that this applies to the vast majority of them in all circumstances. It isn't just when it comes to policing.

The second issue is a lack of respect for police officers. These men and women are out there risking their lives to keep us safe. They deserve to be treated well for that fact alone. Consider how leftists demand that all workers be respected, how fast food workers deserve better treatment, how you shouldn't complain about tipping your waiter when the service was terrible. Those people deserve the utmost respect. They deserve and demand dignity! But police officers, people risking their lives to keep us safe, they deserve to be spat on. That's the mindset of leftists. It's disgusting.

The third issue ties in with the first. Think of all the race baiting that has been going on, especially recently but it isn't just a recent thing, it has been going on for decades now. Think of how the media portrays and feeds into the leftist narrative of black victimhood. Think of how the current administration, the president, the attorney general, think of how they have dealt with issues and have made everything about race. Hate crime charges out of nowhere. Speeches about how a kid could have been your son just because he was black. Nonsense.

I don't know. I'm so disgusted right now.

Being a trashy thug has nothing to do with the color of one's skin.

So just to clarify, youwouldrather fight a police officer than comply with an unjustified arrest? Please correct me if I'm wrong. And if I'm not wrong, please tell us what kind of role model you are for the people around you.

(Though if you're gonna play fisticuffs with cops, I would highly recommend you go on a dream bulk first.)

I know it makes you comfortable, but the truth doesn't care about your feelings.

Now, I would never choose to fight a police officer, so it's completely inaccurate for you to say that's my narrative. Tell us why youwouldn'tfight a police officer, Pat.

By the way, boy or girl? The name makes it difficult to tell. And if you're gender fluid, then sorry for any offense.

So far what I've determined from your posts is that you condone resisting arrest if you believe that the arrest is unjustified. I do not recommend practicing what you preach, in this instance.

There are enough patriotic Americans in this community to keep me high in the green. Your neg didn't bother me, but your dangerous and cancerous attitude toward LEOs does.

Whether or not it is your intention, you are contributing to a climate in this country that puts our police and the people with whom they interact at greater risk by peddling your knowingly dishonest garbage such as calling justified police shootings murders. But I suppose watching the world burn is what misfits like yourself always wanted, so what do you care?

The incident in Dallas and the incidents that took place around the country today are nothing to "lol" at. But you don't have any family members who are cops, so again, what do you care? It's all fun and games to you.

1. Per the FBI a police officer is 18.5 times more likely to be killed by an African American than a police officer is likely to kill an unarmed African American

This is a stupid stat. There aren't that many cops in the US and there are 40 million Blacks in the US. Cops would have to kill a huge number of unarmed Blacks to achieve any kind of parity. Any kind of comparison like this between any non LEO job type and Blacks would show a similar result just because of the large number of Blacks in the US. If you compared accountants to blacks you'd get the same result for instance.

And this isn't a competition or a war. There aren't any "sides" to this. It's a problem we all have to solve together.
Doc had but three redeeming traits. One was his courage; he was afraid of nothing on Earth. The second was the one commendable principal in his code of life, sterling loyalty to friends. The third was his affection for Wyatt Earp.

I've been banned for calling a person with a master's degree in music appreciation a liberal, I've been banned for criticizing Obama for his inflammatory comments, and I've been banned for criticizing moderators.

But never for racism, because I'm not a racist - just a realist. How many men do you think would have been necessary to safely tackle a large man who was carrying a firearm? Even with two more officers on him, it's difficult to see how that could be any safer for anyone involved. But you're very wrong about what you said about carrying.. Carrying isn't a death sentence. Carrying while resisting arrest is.

And really, if a person is going to whip out a gun to threaten someone outside of a convenience store, then try to fight police when they come to see what's going on, then it's probably safer for everyone if that person is no longer with us.

Lol at resisting when getting shot four times trying to show your license and registration when asked to produce it. Carrying got him killed.

And "it's probably safer for everyone" that a person is murdered because someone claimed he "whip out a gun to threaten someone" is proof you are a complete idiot.

RIP dumbass.
