This is the direct result of liberals installing Affirmative Action quotas that are filled by unqualified candidates. Kim Foxx is in no way qualified to be an attorney much less the State's Attorney for Cook County! You will now witness the same exact thing at the mayoral level when Lightfoot wins next week and the city will quickly spiral into disaster quicker than it has in the past decades already. This is exactly what led to the failure of Detroit meaning that Chicago is quickly following the same path!

This is just such a shame. Part of the reason why I sometimes feel as if I need to move to a different country.

This man not facing prison time for what he did is something like out of a fantasy puppet regime world. Not the United States of America.

He was willing to send two innocent men to prison. He lied and lied and lied some more.

And his penalty for doing this is?

Nothing.

He is very clearlynotinnocent, as stated by the Assistant AG:
In an interview Tuesday afternoon, First Assistant State's Attorney Joseph Magats, who took charge of the case after State’s Attorney Kim Foxx stepped aside because of a conflict of interest, said the office reached a deal with the defense in recent weeks to drop the charges if Smollett performed community service and forfeited his $100,000 bond.

"The bottom line is, we stand behind the investigation, we stand behind the decision to charge him,” Magats told the Tribune.“The fact that (Smollett) feels that we have exonerated him, we have not. I can’t make it any clearer than that."
Jussie’s lawyer is as big a lying POS as Jussie.

Funny enough, Jussie is still lying, even after forfeiting 100k, and it is an objective fact on all sides that the Nigerian brothers were the “assailants”. Strong absolutely retarded story and vivid abuse of the justice system.

I'm on the same page as you. I just want him to rationally explain ITT how and why Jussie is innocent of orchestrating a hoax when the Assistant state attorney literally just said "to make it clear this does not exonerate smollett. We fully believe he is guilty and had what we needed to get a conviction"

It's a clear cut case of smollett having some very powerful friends who got him off the hook.

My personal opinion on what should've happened to Smollet aligns with what Iceman said a couple posts up. I dont even care if he goes to jail. I just want him to admit he is a liar and apologize. His career is already ruined anyways.

What troubles me is that a decent sized demographic of people are confusing the charges being dropped with exoneration. I have seen countless comments on Twitter and comments on news articles today saying Smollet is innocent and CPD should be investigated for trying to orchestrate this entire thing to destroy a gay black man. CPD did a fantastic job in this case and now they have to deal with some of these morons.

Smollet should probably move out of Illinois....

The cook county assistant state attorney said he isnt exonerated and there is no doubt that he is guilty and could get a conviction if they wanted.

While you're correct that since charges are dropped he is not guilty. However being not guilty due to dropped charges doesnt make you innocent.

The guy got away because of who he knows. He is still a very very low human being.

Hes a young man and made a horrible mistake. Personally I think the proper punishment would've been a LOT of community service and a large fine. Everyone makes mistakes, It's the lying and victim mentality that bugs me. Guy seems to have a mental illness.

The worst part is people rallying behind him and demonizing CPD. That I cannot get behind

There's the "he did everything he's accused of" part...which were crimes...that people want...charged as crimes. I know its a weird concept, but its just crazy enough to work!

But honestly, just like Amazon pulling out of New York...it couldn't happen to a better chithole city. They can treat all their crimes like they do murder and just look the other way.
