Basically they're reporting that White House officials are concerned Trump is going to pull out of Afghanistan just like Syria. Nothing official yet.

Put it this way, they were chitting bricks when Obama almost started WW3 in Syria.


If Trump does pull troops out I expect the opium and resources to go to China because that is the reason why we're there. Afghanistan is a crucial area in Asia so I'm not too sure he could do it without triggering every deep state NPC in the Pentagon to go scorched Earth on him.

NYTimes just had a story that outlined how we are basically in a stalemate in Afghanistan, we would need to maintain troops there for decades and still would not accomplish a full military victory for the new administration. How many decades do you suggest we keep the stalemate with American troops paying for it with their lives?
