Section IV of the new executive order in regards to Hong Kong states that any property or interest in property that are in the US, or hereafter enters the US, and comes within the possession of someone within the US can be blocked and may not be paid, transferred, exported, or dealt in, if said property came from anyone involved directly, or even indirectly, in imposing Chinas will on the people Hong Kong. Meaning literally any Chinese official or even people in china who worked with chinese officials.


So this means anyone in the US taking money, or real estate, or signing any sort of private deal with china (google) is gonna get fuked and are forced to severe ties with China.

So all those ivy league professors taking chinese money, the NYT, Reddit, Twitter, Google, ect. All of their deals and money transfers can now be blocked. This is massive and likely explains the huge twitter hack that happened literally the next day after this was signed

The question is, will the more powerful companies abide by it? I can see a monolith like google going to some federal judge in Hawaii and having them find some loop hole deeming it unconstitutional.
