ITT I explain why Izzy will absolutely slaughter Pereira

Now I know everyone is caulkriding Pereira because he comes from the mountains of Sao Paulo and is half indigenous with godlike kickboxing skills passed down from generation to generation but let's look at why Izzy will murk Peraira.

Pereira has almost no MMA experience. What is he, like 6-1 in MMA? In kickboxing, he is without a doubt more decorated but we don't care about kickboxing here. We care about MMA with grappling, wrestling, submissions and stand-up.

Kickboxing is five 3-minute rounds. MMA is five 5-minute rounds. That's an extra 40% added to the round length. Every single round. Plus you don't have to defend against takedowns in kickboxing which is very exhausting.

Izzy doesn't get tired. How many 5 rounds has he had? Craploads aka. 7 times.

Alex fades hard and fast. Their first fight showed it pretty well. Second fight he almost KOed Pereira until he ran into the infamous left hook. He knows Pereiras left hook is coming this time.

Izzy might also be extra motivated because everyone thinks he will get KTFO-ed but us as non-casual MMA fans (j/k I'm pretty casual) know to bet on Izzy round 3 or 4 KO.

The toughest MMA fighter Peraira has faced is Sean Strickland. I don't need to add anything to this, just let that sink in.

Izzy will come out with a gyno titty and we all know what that means.

So conclusion or tl;dr. Izzy will murk Alex and a bet of 3th or 4rd round KO will bring in the gold coins. You're welcome.

Alex is reserved in his striking & movement and will have no issues with a 25 minute striking battle against Izzy. So take that out of the question. I say striking battle because lets not get ahead of ourselves here and think Izzy is going to turn into some D1 wrestler here, because he won't. There is too much risk involved and this fight will remain on the feet. So lets take that out of the question also. Meaning what we're left with will be a chess match of 2 kickboxers trying to bait each other into shots. What Izzy had going for him all this time was distance management & technical advantage. Alex takes that way from him. I actually think this fight will be a snoozer for the most part with Izzy trying to run away as per every single fight, and Alex chasing him trying to force exchanges. Either way my money is going on Alex by KO in round 3.

Didn't read, but lol @ anyone saying this guy owns izzy because of a lucky knockout. What they fail to realize is Izzy beat his ass in their first fight and got robbed, then wanted to finish him in their second fight so it didn't happen again. That won't happen again.

I think Izzy will likely win a decision, just based on experience overall.

It's true that Peireira lacks MMA experience but he has some even between competing in kickboxing. I don't think Adesanya is suddenly going to become some world class, or even competent offensive grappler. At least not enough where he would manhandle him. Plus Alex has been training with Glover, so we don't even really know how good his grappling really is. It could be okay for all we know, or at the very least enough to defend against Adesanya which isn't asking for much. You think Adesanya is suddenly going to shoot takedowns and be successful?

Let's be honest, Adesanya has been fighting relative manlets and abuses his long reach by keeping his distance and striking where the opponent can't strike back. He's good at that, but it's a different fight when somebody who is as tall and as long as you, with better striking than almost any other person you've faced. Somebody who can put the pressure on him, threaten a knockout, has good counters, I believe that can be Alex.

Should be a good fight. If Adesanya wins, the division truly is his unless somebody like Khamzat fights him or somebody with great wrestling but also has the physical attributes and decent size.

When's the last time Izzy shot for a takedown like ever? His striking is on fukking point but he's no Khabib in the ground game.

He hasn't had to. Izzy is a purple belt under Andre Galvao so he can grapple. In almost every fight Izzy has had to work on his takedown defense because everyone wanted to take him down knowing he had no ground game. vs Alex he has 0 worries and can focus 100% on standup if he wants to.

He doesn’t need to shoot for takedowns, his grappling stance is much more akin to a Greco / bjj / judo style where he doesn’t worry much about someone shooting in on him since he is so long / controls distance masterfully / has a good sprawl / long telegraphed shots is a recipe to eat a knee against him.

When it does hit the ground, he is no slouch either. His earlier fights (when he was FAR more entertaining) he actually showed he has an effective ground game.

He actually has a good Marcelo Garcia style high elbow gullatine / chin whip takedown, and showed how he is dangerous off his back with his triangle against Gastelim.

I’m not saying he is Khabib / Islam, but he definitely is not trash on the ground. And he 100% has the grappling advantage against Alex. Especially if Alex tires in the later rounds.

I am still surprised Pereira got a title fight this quickly. Then again, Dana White gave Chandler a title shot after just one win in the UFC.

Yeach, Izzy will win definitely win. Strickland was a moron for standing in front of Pereira like he did, hence he got Ko'd. I am even looking for Adesanya to mix it up a little bit and try to take him down.

You'll waste your money.

Your post is just wrong. Izzy isn't running from Pieria, if anything he'll be the aggressor.

Because of experience in the cage. In their kickboxing fights they had similar aggressiveness but Alex relies on the gloves more. That's one thing people don't take into consideration, Izzys style suits smaller gloves.

Even tho it's boring as fk izzy runs because it works against the smaller guys, just waiting for them to lunge in and counter them. Against Pereira he'll throw more volume

Izzy had like 60 more kickboxing matches than Alex before he faced him and 10 more additional after the first fight. Experience didn't play much of a factor there. These guys are pros of the highest level in their discipline. Izzy having a few more MMA fights isn't going to be a factor here imo. It'll be a game of baiting shots, someone will slip and get caught. Thats this entire fight in a nutshell, hence why I think it might be a bit of a snoozer. My money is going on Alex to do the catching. Anyone calling Izzy I can't argue with either.

I think the smaller gloves play a bigger difference than the stamina. Alex is used to parrying with the gloves where as Izzy uses more head movement

As for the experience factor, did you actually watch the first two fights? Izzy definitely won their first fight. He lost fairly in the second but would have won if it was mma rules because of the standing count. That's just something to point out

I'm not saying that proves anything because Alex has improved since then as well, but if we were going just off their fights i'd go with Izzy all the way.

Even though I agree that anyone could get knocked out I think Izzy is the bigger decision favourite by a long shot. Even in the fight Izzy got knocked out in he was winning the rounds

We all know what's going to happen - Rundensanya is going to run around the cage for 5 rounds, use his long ass arms and legs to keep distance, and milk 50-45 from blind judges who are all members of his nuthugging fanclub. That's what he does in every fight. One of the most boring champ in UFC history. That's why this f.aggot get boo'd in every fight and then cries that people are mean to him.

He can shut me up and get a decent knockout for once. I won't hold my breath.

It’s either this or an epic gastelum like exchange of strikes for 5 rounds. No in between.

That difference will be decided by whether Pereira has the balls to try and beat Izzy or just expects Izzy to stand there so he can hit him. From watching Pereira's fights in Glory and UFC it doesn't seem he is likely to do that because that is not his fighting style, he is a counter striker used to his opponents staying right in front of him. He also knows how dangerous it is to pressure Izzy, stepping into his range giving Izzy the advantage of being in the counter position that he loves as well. I think Pereira is going to do a whole lot of standing around and Izzy will be constantly moving in and out at different angles landing sniping shots as usual and punish Pereira's lead leg teaching him the difference between striking in Glory and UFC. Of course Izzy most likely wins by decision, but I can also see him winning with a rear naked choke if Pereira ends up on the ground for any reason.

anyone who was watched their two fights knows Izzy is the better striker.

ie Cejudo and Wonderboy

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NgtZXsq5Ao&t=465s

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pt4sTRDNnLg

1st fight - Izzy is asleep lets Pereira squeak the first 2 in 2 very close rounds, 10-9's. Wakes up round 3 wins much more convincingly, but still only a 10-9. So Alex wins decision good for him.

2nd Fight. Alex lit up and beat up for 2.5 rounds. TKO'd even but saved by standing 8 count. then has his leon edwards moment.

Alex has power and can end at any time. But Izzy is the better striker. Odds reflect this with Izzy the favourite.

Just wish more casuals where betting so Izzy would be paying more for the win.

Izzy was what, 60 fights ahead of Alex in terms of kickboxing matches in their first fight, and atleast 10 ahead on the second with Alex taking the fight on short notice? Izzy was at his best whilst Alex was still growing as a fighter. Alex is a much better kickboxer now than what he was at the time of these fights.

Wow that's great for the 12-4 Glory fighter. Just LOL at a 7 time defending UFC champ in less than 5 years thinking he can beat a mediocre kickboxer in an MMA fight. Stupid UFC fighters wasting their time with all this MMA training crap, very lucky more Glory kickboxers just can't be bothered to come over and take all the belts with their far superior skills.

Izzy is 2-2 in Glory. Alex is Glory's first two division champion. This fight will be a kickboxing match in MMA gloves, nothing more, or do you expect Izzy to shoot takedowns like a D1 wrestler?

Cool story, then why did Alex lose 99% of the time they fought. All he has over Izzy is a Leon Edwards moment.

Think about what you wrote.
"This fight will be a kickboxing match in MMA gloves, nothing more, or do you expect Izzy to shoot takedowns like a D1 wrestler?"

Its going to be 99% stand up. Everyone knows this. And... Izzy is the big betting favourite.

Izzy is the better kickboxer here. Deal with it.

Yet still inferior to Izzy. If he was better then he'd be the favorite.

I would argue had that last fight been the reverse - that Alex beat the hell out of Izzy for 2.5 rounds, TKO'd him only to have him be saved via standing 8, and then Izzy get a flash KO, then yes Alex would be seen as the better kickboxer and actually be even odds, or even the favorite.
